The online communities are underestimating the sensor size.  Many will be surprised with the announcement next week.  This is what the Nikon 1 should have been.

A compact sleeper for 2012 could be the new Canon G series that is suppose to have a larger sensor, fast lens and geared more towards video (built-in ND filter helps too).  I think we'll find out in Jan/Feb timeframe.

Actually I was referring to your comment on the Nikon 1.  :)

Andrew, you mention the Nikon has a low bit rate.  I thought it was close to 24mbps which is as good as you can get with an unhacked camera.
