  Ferrari have a DNA. Cinema cameras have a DNA. You have to go back decades to see it evolve into the force it is today. For Ferrari it is the very specific engine sound and the looks. Arri are that spirit to cinema cameras. The DNA of the Sony FS7 is a compromise. Half EX1 and half cinema camera, the ergonomics of the buttons, dials and menus need a complete overhaul in my opinion. So Sony haven’t got it all right yet but what they have done is put a Ferrari engine inside. The FS7 for £5199+VAT is an absolute bargain, with an ‘engine’ almost on par with a £18,000 F55 (though without global shutter). It’s a much more capable camera than the Canon C300 or Panasonic GH4. I also think the problem is with the Speed Booster. The shims aren't accurate enough in Metabone's PL adapters either.

Why on earth would they put an organic sensor in this, when they have a perfectly good Super 35mm sensor to trickle down from the Varicam S35!? Guys! This rumour makes no sense!! No sense at all! Not even any sensor!!

Wow talk about plucking specs out of thin air with the minimal of education when it comes to guessing. 18MP on a Micro Four Thirds sensor yet clean at ISO 12,800.... riiight.

​Yes, clear advantage to shooting 4K for delivering 1080p. Shooting 1080p in 2015 is a bit like shooting standard definition 720 x 480p in 2008.

The D5300 is a little cleaner in low light and in the shadows when dialled down flat. Any reason you're not considering D750? Price?

Nikon D5500 might be worth a look in the meantime if you don't need 4k. Or even very good 1080p

I tried external recording with the nx1 and shogun briefly, need to do more shooting with it. The quality was similar to H.265, that it is to say very good. However you can edit it straight off the card without transcoding.

  The KineMAX 6K cinema camera is nearing a release and I might have my hands on a prototype soon here in Berlin (I happen to be down the road from my friends at HDVideoShop who are the official European dealer). This is a significantly higher spec cinema camera on paper than anything else under the price of a Red Dragon for now. Kinefinity have just released the first 6K footage from the camera and even some original material direct from the SSD card is available, for grading trials. No Country For Old men and There Will Be blood were also shot on film, but I'd say the anamorphic had more to do with it. You can do it on the Alexa Studio as per Skyfall and the look is just as organic.

And Tokyo is a lovely place. Highly recommended. If Nikon want to do a really good 'marketing' campaign, just improve the product. Less box, more camera.

I doubt it would be an $800 profit after eBay fees, postage and instant 'used' depreciation value of the items in the kit, they are all old parts apart from the D750 itself. It's going to take more than foam inserts to get people to switch from panasonic to nikon and that is coming from someone who loved the D750! Still got mine!

Even at £4500 its still a much worse image than a £1299 Samsung!

Just one press to move between stills and photo mode. That would be far better. Like every other camera then!
