For early builds I’d definitely go closed beta first, either via Play Console testing tracks or a direct APK to a small group here. With something this hardware-dependent, a quiet test phase will save you a lot of messy public feedback from devices with broken/limited Camera2 implementations.
Play Store closed testing is useful if you want crash reports, device spread and smoother updates, but an APK alongside a simple feedback template might be faster at the very beginning. I’d ask testers to include phone model, Android version, Camera2 level, RAW support, storage used, resolution/FPS, dropped frames and a short sample/log. That will make comparisons much easier.
