No complaints about my Miller Air. Reasonably lightweight and fits into checked in baggage easily.

Far more practical than the Kessler Hercules I also have... only good for bruising the shins.

    what model?

  2. Sachtler Ace M GS 1002

    vs

    Sachtler Ace M MS 1001

what do you think would be better?

Anyway I red that these models have week legs... Anyone  that have these models can confirm?

  3. Hello I have a GH5 and some other gear. I would like a tripod with a bowl.

Ath this moment I have 2 photographic tripod:

    - Manfrotto 190 Xprob

    - Gitzo 1545T

    and some head:

    - Manfrotto 500AH

    - Manfrotto 502AH (too heavy for my jobs, I flight often for my jobs)

And I used a Manfrotto Before with a stupid MVH400AH (that is very nice to transport, but not stable in tilt).

    What about MVT502AM?

  4. Hello,

I own a GH5, and a zoom H5 with directional mic, but I would like to improve the audio of my video interviews (sometimes taking audio straight on camera with my zoom, is a bit noisy).

Can you suggest me some cheap solutions (100/150€ max) for a good lavalier? Maybe XLR to use with my zoom?

  5. Hello,

I use a Panasonic GH5 with metabones to adapt my Nikon lenses (24 1.4g, 35 2, 50 1.4g, 85 1.4g), now for some jobs I would like to get a Panasonic lens to use autofocus and save some weights for pictures and videos. Which one do you suggest and why? (28mm to 35mm in FF are my preferred focal lengths)

  6. Hello,

I used for a work my new GH5, as Nikon user I used in the past my D800 to do the same work, many videos+interviews to be edited to compose a little video for youtube and websites.

I shoot 10bit 1080 4:2:2 200mbps v-log, I would like (after the applied lut and color correction) to reduce the size, but leave me the possibility to edit these clips (no colors) , cut/compose/effects to arrive at the final video for youtube and screen, without lose quality (8 bit was good).

    thanks

Mostly not, but I didn't try all possible adapters solutions - from my living place is very hard to get more sophisticated tools out of cheaper China-made adapters... and while first Metabones R adapter, if I remembered well, was good in focusing, it was extremely tight fitting... I personally had a lens-master that made some corrections inside lenses to be more precise in focusing to infinity.

But maybe it is more matter of tolerance... at any case, I'd suggest first to try any more expensive adapter or combination, especially if you plan to use combination of dumb R-EF to MSB EF-m43 adapter... and I'm not sure if Metabones has upgrade original version for Leica R.

Nothing more clever to say that is not widely explained - besides signature of pleasant milky colors, Leica R's lesser contrast quality is today more precious because of highly capable grading software.. BTW for me was always interesting that Panasonic's so-called Leica lenses are in color rendition actually far more similar to Zeiss than Leica R line...

And maybe worth noting - I found that tiny little bit softer (than primes) image of Leica R 28-70 zoom had the best grading starting point from all zooms that I tried...

Guys, I don't talk about Leica R line, but Leica M version...

Would you mind telling us what it is you’ll be shooting, where you see yourself in the next five years?

Yes, maybe I would buy a Leica in the close future.

  9. Hello, I have a GH5 with many Nikon G lenses adapted with metabones.

I recently like to shot with GH5 with 50mm 1.4G (100mm equivalent), for its size, but I don't really like manual focus system of NIKON 50mm 1.4G, it's not usable.

I would like then to buy a new lens, compact 35mm/50mm FF, to use with my GH5, that is usable in manual focus and have a good bokeh.

    - PL 42.5 1.2 (good quality, but in manual focus?)

    - Voigltander 42.5 f0.95 or 25 f0.95 MFT?

    - Voigtlander Nokton Classic 35mm f/1.4 Leica mount? and then adapting it to MFT. I'd like to buy a lens that I can adapt to other systems, if in the near future I would sell GH5

    Budget 700/800€

With that much money in glass why cheap on out the adapter? Just get the speed booster XL and be done with it.

xl, is not adaptable also for blackmagic pocket m4/3 right?

On youtube I saw a video with GH5 and my 24 1.4 with metabones and looks great

I'm in doubt of getting an used 12-35 Lumix otherwise..

  11. Hello at the end, I bought a GH5 used in mint conditions.

As Nikon user for pictures, and needing GH5 for interviews, I need a suggestion about something to adapt my lenses:
    14-24 2.8G
    24-70 2.8G
    70-200 2.8G
    24 1.4G
    35 2D
    50 1.4G
    85 1.4G
    105 2.8G

I don't want to spend a lot of money more...

  12. Hello, I need an extension cable to use my zoom h5 as microphone connected to ATOMOS ninja video recorder.
Now I used for both camera/connection RODE TRS 3.5 SC2 dual-male http://it.rode.com/accessories/sc2, but is too short is I want to use the microphone on a boom for example.

    1) I need a new TRS cable dual male like RODE SC8 http://it.rode.com/accessories/sc8 ?
    2) is sufficient a normal 3.5 dual jack male; (cheaper)
    3) I can use my SC2 with male-female like RODE VC1 http://it.rode.com/accessories/vc1

Or it is sufficient any extension cable?

Yeah going to Very hard to beat a Sony A7 mk III. For the money now it just seems like the thing that fits most peoples needs. I guess there is the Fuji X-H1 but still no low light gain and not FF. And AF is not as good either. I guess a used A7r mk II is not the worse idea if your main goal is photos. 42mp is sort of the cats ass for that.

I don't like the ergonomics on the A7r II, and there isn't a joypad for focus... :S

    I say mostly wait.

Sell your D700 and get a used D750 as a stop gap. Gives you a second better video body and a better photo body. Wait on everything else. Get the Sony if you want to drop Nikon. I did it, but it was a relatively rough transition, and a lot of your Nikon lenses  wont AF properly on the Sony for your photo work.

If Nikon makes a good mirrorless stick with them, if not switch to another brand.

Yes, I don't really like the softness of D750...

I would like a 4K camera and compact in size to use with my new gimbal Feyutech 2000. Now using D800 with 24 or 35 is at limit. Another nice feature is a good sensor also for pictures when I go for my trips.

What I have understood is that GH5 need too many budget for lenses (my Nikon lenses are not too adaptable??), and is not too good for pictures.

    Sony A7iii?
