  1. Managed to find some a7 III sample S-Log2 footage. Unfortunately, the OP shot most of it in 60/120 FPS in low-light and tried regain exposure by bumping up the ISO.
  2. I'm with you on that. Although I belong to the Y generation, I always prefer a good read rather than watching a video. The sad fact is that articles do not generate revenue, whereas videos do.
  3. A lot has been said about alleged stuttering and jerkiness in videos on pages ~20. Can some happy owners of the a7 III either confirm or deny these issues? How do you like the video features?
  4. Unfortunately, there is no way. Neither internal, nor external capture.
  5. To be honest, I really often use Resolve's Color Space Transform effect to change S-Gamut3.Cine to Blackmagic Design Broadcast Film and this makes Sony's Color Science more tolerable, at least to my eyes.
  6. To be honest, I can't see any disturbing noise in the shots you mentioned. The footage looks clean and pleasing to the eye. Here's the advice, though: A quote from the .pdf file you should have, if you actually bought EOSHD for Sony (I hope Andrew won't mind) :
  7. I've already downloaded and played a little with Resolve 15 and from these 30 minutes I can tell that it analyzes the footage at least 3x times faster than before but it's still inferior to Adobe's Warp Stabilizer.
  8. Hahahahhaaha, almost! Szczęśliwego i smacznego jajka wielkanocnego! Adjectives usually have the same ending when they describe the same subject.
  9. Loved the video. Actually, I've just had an easter breakfast like this, since I live in Poland, hahahahha. Pure magic.
  10. Thank you. ( : I do not, but two of my friends do and I send them some designs from time to time.
  11. Just plain 2.2lbs (1kg) and a small 1.1lbs (0.5kg) behind it. Total counterweight: 3.3lbs (1.5kg) Sure! Sony a6300, Samyang / Rokinon 12/2, JJC LCH-A6 LCD Hood, Peak Design Anchor Links, Zomei Variable ND2-400 77mm Gini Rig Pro-10, a 3D printed part to attach the counterweights (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2761632) and 2 standard weights (2.2lbs + 1.1lbs aka 1kg + 0.5kg), which can be bought in a sports departament store and act as a counterweight. All rods, clamps, handles, etc. are the part of the above mentioned Gini Rig, no additional parts (besides the counterweight system) were added to it. ( :
  12. Bringing the topic up and summarizing my experiences after renting a shoulder rig for a while. My setup looked like this: (Reds were matched by a pure accident, though it looks really nice) The rig helped me to get rid of all micro shakes and a lot of rolling shutter, as well. Definitely smoothes pans / tilts, etc. I'd need some practice to keep my framing while walking, but it manages to make 'bumps' less apparent. All in all: I'm content with the results and think this thing matches my style of shooting. Can provide some footage to all interested. Thank you all for participating in this thread and sharing your experiences, observations and opinions. Really appreciate it!
  13. These videos are so inspirational. A pleasure to watch. Thanks for sharing! How do you approach your talents? Do you ask them to prepare some kind of 'speech' and then record it or is it more like an interview?
  14. I'm afraid I might be even harder on mine - I'll just throw it into the bag and then into the bus's trunk. I knew this plasticky mounts were not to be trusted.. True! I guess I'd need to keep at it. But still, gimbals appear to me more like a some kind of a magic wand than a proper filmmaking tool. This is neat. Haven't heard about it before. Nonetheless, I think I'll give shoulder rig a try. Some rental service near me offers a Gini rig and I guess the only way to stop thinking about acquiring one is just try it for myself, like Dude_ger said.
  15. I can't argue with that. I've had a brief chance to work with one (Zhiyun Crane, can't remember which version) and what I did not like about it was the delayed response to my actions. Surely, one will get used to it quickly, but sometimes it does prevent you from getting the shot. Unfortunately, none of my glasses (besides 20$ Helios) will cover FF sensor, hahahahha. But I do agree their FF line-up has become the most interesting one in the market. Especially with a7 III. But I'll stick to my a6300, like I said - photo and videography is just my hobby. ( :
  16. I hate to admit to, but with time I find this unremarkably true. All the more so, because this is just a hobby which sometimes allows me to learn some cash while still enjoying doing it.
  17. What do you think about something like this? It goes for around 20$. The only thing that worries me is the build quality.
  18. Hahahahha, that's a nice one. Will you mount it on a tripod?
  19. So, to sum up: there is not so much to gain from an offset rig with a counterweight, when it comes to a feather-light camera without any extra accesories. Did I get it right? Gorillapod seems like a nice option, but wouldn't it be a bit slippery / wobbly? There is nothing that sets it properly in place, nothing to prevent it from moving on my chest / shoulder.
  20. jonpais, I've had a chance to borrow a glidecam from a friend and see, how does it feel. I do realize one needs a great skill to get satisfying results from it, but to me using a glidecam for an extended period of time was really tiring. I cannot imagine myself running a whole day with it and having enough strength at the end of an event to keep it steady. What's more: I do prefer well-executed handheld look over buttery smooth glidecam / gimbal shots. kye, this little thing surely is a good idea I didn't even consider. Will take a look at it. ( :
  21. Thanks for the input, Chris. Will definitely look into that as well. ( : (I also posted 2 more replies here, in this thread, but they are pending approval)
  22. This looks legit! I really like it, since it allows to rest one hand on a camera and turn on/off recording or fiddle with settings. Where do you put a shoulder pad if I may ask? Do you just move the power bank and then attach it? One more thing: unfortunately, my replies will be delayed - they need to go through the moderator before they get posted.
  23. My shots usually last 10 to 30 seconds. Sometimes I shoot timelapses, but for these tripod is a must. I was afraid to hear this. Gimbals are not for me; since they are an electronic devices, they're more prone to fail than a simple rig / tripod / monopod. Neither am I a huge fan of the results they give - it lacks the authenticity, immersiveness, naturality. From what I've seen, a6500's IBIS is okay for taking photos but it tends to overcompensate during shooting video which results in even more unnatural, mechanic micro shakes. And I did upgrade my camera - I had used a6000 for 2 years and changed it for a6300 in December. ( : Thanks for taking your time.
