Hi there. Does anyone have any experience / feedback regarding The Wandering DP Podcasts? I saw some of his work and free samples of podcasts and they looked amazing and informative. What's your take on this?

Yeah, seems like it, to be honest. I have a Pentacon 135/2.8 and even wide open it is okay.

Even in photo mode? Or in video (after cropping out the sides in order to finally deliver in 2.35:1) ? That'd be quite a feat, though everything is possible. Especially in anamorphic world. Meanwhile, OP mentions M4/3 camera, which most likely means GH5 and therefore - 4:3 open gate mode.

Just a reminder: You'll get a massive vignette if you use 25 mm M4/3 lens with a 2x anamorphic adapter. The widest you you could go is 42.5 mm

No prob! Usually I'm not a big fan of video reviews and much more prefer the written word, but the videos you do with Chris are an exception - I watch them all, from soup to nuts and never regret it. Anyway, back to the point: the footage looks great. Pleasing colors, nice contrast and good looking motion. It's intriguing to see that Panasonic didn't ignore S1's video capabilites even though they initially stated that it's mainly a stills camera.

That may be the case, but know what? Most likely they won't announce any new APS-C lens to accompany it. In 3-years time they released 3 APS-C bodies and only one lens meant for them (18-135/3.5-5.6 so I'm not even sure we can count it).. If it wasn't for Sigma, all the a6000s wouldn't be that popular.

@KnightsFan, Fusion is the only tab I'm afraid to open, hahaha. There are times I accidentally click on it, but then my PC slows down just to give me a short while to reconsider what I've done. Jokes aside: I'm not really into VFX, it's all black magic (ha ha) to me.

Did anyone notice any performance issues in 16 compared to 15.3.1? I'm getting this pop-up every now and then, which never bothered me before: I'm not doing anything crazy - just color grading 8 bit H264 video files from my Panasonic G85 in a 2560x1280 timeline. Four nodes, no denoising, no sharpening, no qualifiers.

Sure, no problem. Sorry, I thought for a moment that you were referring to Lomo 35KP lenses, which are projector lenses. Haven't heard of OKC series before, my bad.

Just gimme 4:3 anamorphic mode and I'm totally in!

@brianmcall, if I may suggest something - both ISCO and Schneider Cinelux 75/2 seem to be much better choice than LOMO. Take a look here: And if you're interested, I have a spare ISCO 75/2 for sale.

@LindseyL, provide us with some sample stills / video files, so that we can judge it ourselves, if it's possible. The easiest explanation is that Sony FS5 is a S35 camera and therefore uses only the center crop of the lens image circle, whereas Canon sees the extreme corners, which are usually lagging behind, especially wide open. Cheers.

The only short scopes that come to my mind are: Kowa 16H / 8Z, Kowa for Bell & Howell, Elmoscope II. They are optically identical. Unfortunately, they usually sell for 600 - 800 $, if not higher. As for taking lenses: take a look at pancake-ish Voigtlander 40/2 (https://kenrockwell.com/voigtlander/40mm-f2.htm). Many people recommend it. Just pair with a dumb adapter (no speedbooster, God forbid!) and you'll be good to go.

Well, it isn't an entirely wrong lens. It's just a bigger brother of all the Ultra Stars people tend to use. There is no way to disassemble it, unfortunately. Like leslie said, the only thing you're missing now is a clamp to attach it to your normal lens and camera. I had a7iii and used it with anamorphics for a short time, so if you have questions - just ask away.

It should. SLR Magic states that lenses with their front element smaller than 40mm are gonna be just fine. Up to some degree - yes, it would. Mostly depends on what f-stop you will be shooting and how big focus transition you want to achieve.
