  1. When i used remote wifi i was able to view what my camera screen sees on my nexus 7 tablet. Pretty cool. It started quite laggy but after a few second it was showing it live with little lag. I must retry use it again. Damn would be cool to have some more video related apps. Thx for the list.
  2. Hello Guys, iv'e been impressed with the amount of god apps on the A7 cameras, sucks that you can spent £2000+ on a camera and you don't get any for free (Timelaps,StarTrails,MotionShot,SmoothReflections) Being some of the cool ones (MultiFrameNR,BracketPro,Lense Compensation) Being some of the ones that should probably already be on the camera. I must ask do you rekon it's possible they could add a LUT Loader app similar to the LiveView Grading App but it lets you load at least one LUT of your choice to view live. That would be super cool cool. Perhaps even a Ghost Overlay App, allows you to take a photo or video and overlay it over the top of your live view to match up two shots up or plates in VFX terms. Even the ability to use your phone/tablet as an External Monitor App just like how the Smart Remote Control App works but without that whole second menu thing you get on the camera when using that app. If you know what i mean? Perhaps even with the audio level and crop borders to be displayed in vide mode (great for framing and showing your client) Do you guys reckon this is possible? The apps cost a bit when you add the fact that you want to but loads of them but would be cool to see these features. Let me know if you would like to see them as well. I must be alone.
  3. Hello There! So i got my A7RII and i also needed a lens/lenses that can replace my 18-55mm & 55-250mm KIT lenses on my canon 60D A lens that could deliver the same focal range for general photography (weddings, shows) just general event stuff really. So i got the FE 24-240mm but i dont wanna be a dick but i'm not rly in love with it considering that price tag (£800) Really stiff zoomNot great Manuel focus ringReally heavy (Big factor on such a small body like the A7RII)Very big (Big factor on such a small body like the A7RII)And an aperture that goes from 3.5 to 6.3 not all that amazingVery poor macro photographyThese are only big factors when i add that £800 price tag (got it for £619) Curios if there's maybe a better lens or lenses out there for around the same price?
  4. Wow such a great reply with even a source thanks you so very much!
  5. Hello Guys, I have yet to get an A7RII but i have been considering getting an external monitor mainly for a AC/director to view things not to pull focus off. But i'd like to know if it's possible to use the inbuilt LCD screen and an external monitor simultaneously without the LCD screen shutting off like what most canon dslrs do. And if this is the case i guess i'd have to get 2 monitors and is it as simple as using a HDMI splitter? P.S Samuel
  6. Ah thanks guys! Really helpful stuff it seems really obvious actually now that you say it. Cheers!
  7. I know it sounds silly... well that's because it is silly, but i'm curious if it's possible to get an adapter for a A7RII for EF-S lenses not EF. And if it is possible would they work in S35 mode as it's kinda close to an APS-C crop. Really interested to know if possible and what adapter and the side effects for doing this is. P.S Samuel
  8. Now this is a cool setup. Thinking of the 24-105mm at f4 on an a7s and it's impressive low light would work nicely. I'll keep this in mind man (:
  9. As "Ebrahim Saadawi" said lets not go off topic here. Let me just put this last word in. I have taken your advice it was just off topic to what i was talking about... and you recommended zeiss lenses... of course there sharper.. there expensive for someone like me. Who would have knew spending $700-900 on a lense would give you better results than a £300 lense (: I do like the sigma 18-35mm though. I'm a very big hobbyist so money is a challenge and i work with what i got. When i broke down what you said all i really got from it was (bad samyang lense, spend more $$$ for obviously better lenses) j.f.r. Thanks for the help, i'll keep zeiss lenses in mind in the future.
  10. Hey guys thanks "paulraymaekers,Julian,Ebrahim Saadawi,Mattias Burling" so much this helps massively! and btw "j.f.r." Really off topic and you sound a little rude just throwing facts about how bad the lenses are i bought. as an indie filmmaker i don't have or really wanna spend $700+ on lenses when being honest at a certain point in my style of filmmaking it comes down to how much i can push the image in DR and the range in the camera than the lens. (also i'm using the 35mm t1.5) For a canon 60D in video mode (it takes very blury video) i think this is pretty good (: http://cl.ly/image/2W42340g373p Thx for help guys!
  11. Hello there forums (: Iv'e been gathering a lense collection of samyang/tokina t1.5 full frame manual video primes before i decide to upgrade to an A7s from my 60D (So i will have a good lens collection to actually use) Sadly there all on the canon Emount and i'm curious if there is anything really important i should know about such as (Sharpness loss, more chromatic aberration, blurring of edges, vinyetting & perhaps even 24mm being pushed to a 20/28mm due to the the distance of the lens and the mount?) before i decide to use an Emount adapter on a Sony A7s. Or is there no difference? Any knowledge would save me a bunch of time and effort. P.S Samuel
  12. Hey thanks for the response, i'm using VisionTech's Color profile which is not quite as flat as Cinestyle but i found cinestyle to be so flat that getting any decent information back just made the image look worse. Does what you said still apply even when using a profile like cinestyle technicolor? (that's much closer to LOG, but still creates color smudging for the 60D)
  13. Hello There EOS HD forums. A quick question, i'm interested in the A7S but i must ask about grading vs the 60D/5D cameras. I'm no colorist but my 60D with a (rec709) color profile, after cc i get this horrible color artifacts and degradation as i call it, where you can see the colors start smudging and looking grainy. (looking closely) http://cl.ly/image/2o083R0n3c2e?_ga=1.184071008.719058195.1402172166 http://cl.ly/image/2n2D2I3w2L2W?_ga=1.111628610.719058195.1402172166 How is grading in S-log2 any different than just shoving colors around even more like i already am on my 60D? And is the file format XAVCHD a better general codec for color correction than the canon codec? Or is there something i could be doing to stop this? Using impulZ luts. (Not a big LUT person) Any help would be awesome cheers.
