  1. Why would you want to compensate for distortion? That's the best part! :D
  2. Lexar. As dude said above, don't go over 128's.
  3. 128 1066x are good for me.
  4. Just use MLVFS and work directly with MLVs in resolve. I do this, the quality is great and workflow is fast.
  5. Most people say it's not really worth it for video, more for stills.
  6. Just zoom in a little if it does... I don't see an issue here. It covers FF sensor at 14mm.
  7. The one thing I notice most is wide angle shots. For example 7mm on M43 looks weird compared to 14mm on FF. This is the only time I really notice the difference much, in the distortion of system "equivalent" super wide angle lenses.
  8. You're shooting anamorphic? At such focal lengths, adapters are not the best quality.
  9. 5D3 is a much better investment imo. If you're going to get 5D2, you might as well save more and get a 7D.
  10. From experience I'd recommend not bothering with an EOS M. I've had a few and I think if you want to do Raw it's really not worth the hassle. Look around for a cheap 7D, that's kind of the best cheap camera you can get for Raw and make some good results/ workflow.
  11. That's true. A few of the better people I know don't know much about the tech either because that's not what they are into. But... I will say that when I see these people and work with them I often teach them many things to help them produce better work and some of the best work they produce is when I (or someone else) is shooting and they are meerly editing the stuff. Different people are good at different things, that's life.
  12. It has a slow write speed, so anything in decent resolutions will never be continuous. It's possible you could do 48fps for a short time until the buffer fills, but I think it will also be squished if it is possible, so you will have to resize in post (like anamorphic lens). Likely as well that the Liveview will not display correctly.
  13. I'm under the impression 10bit raw doesn't really work 100% properly from my tests with Eosm (also 7D). Not to mention the benefits of Raw are much more apparent at a minimum of 12bit on theses cams, if I was going to shoot 10bit I'd just buy a different camera (almost any panasonic 4K cam and down sample to 1080). I've used eosM quite a bit for 14bit raw, but I got really sick of the focus pixels and the extra hassle of getting rid of them. That new app for Mac cuts down the process, but still you're pretty limited with it. For me 7D is truly the cutoff point, any less quality than that and I can't be bothered with it, unless I was doing an 8mm emulation video or something.
  14. Raw out of either of those cams is fun but not amazing imo. 7D and beyond is where it becomes practical for me. I have a few eosm lying around now that I rarely touch except if I want to take out a small stills camera.
  15. Nope just good piloting. But these small rigs are much easier to fly inside than a big drone obviously, they are actually super fun and cheap, lots of my friends do the same.
  16. Good piloting for sure. Best drone clip I've ever seen though was flying through fireworks at night.
  17. Well on apsc you're best off sticking to 35mm c-mounts and above. Maybe a few rare 25mm would cover, I don't have any though.
  18. It kind of scares me that people can't work stuff like this out for themselves... "Oh no, my hotshoe is blocked, it's impossible to mount a microphone now, better throw it in the bin!".
  19. We can agree to disagree then. Personally I think ML forums would be much better with a few mods to clean it up. As Squig said it's not like people don't get shut down on ML as quick as they do on PV anyway, infact often on ML they also get made fun of as well (as he attests to). Searching through 300 pages to find what you were talking about again gets old pretty quick. They just need to have camera specific forums with fairly specific categories, each of which should also have a seperate developments and troubleshooting thread. Often times it just people asking basic troubleshooting questions that pads out a 20page thread to 300pages (hence why devs get crazy).
  20. Looks like what was posted here on my own Macbook and Iphone (if you're wondering). I guess that's something to take into consideration in this day and age (much like radio only edits of songs).
  21. I think you missed the point big time @Andrew Reid. I didn't say they needed his opinions I said they needed a mod like him to clean the place up. PV is the most structured forum I've been to, everything is mostly in it's rightful place, there isn't 100threads discussing the same things or going way off topic.
  22. Yeah IS is ok on it but not great. IS on 16-35 f4 is really good (all new IS lenses are pretty much).
