  1. Depends what your looking to shoot and what your budget it is. If you dont need AF then the Nikon 80-200 is really good for the price, and can fit on Canon EOS body's. The new Tamron is good price and is really nice what what it is. The old Tamron is great for film because its really sharp but sllllloooooowwwww AF.
  2. I have used the GH3 and Canon FD 500mm lens to grab some good photos like this one, it will take time but still there if you really want it. http://500px.com/photo/47170748?from=user
  3. I dont see how anyone on this forum has the nerve to talk about the GH4 just because a rumored camera is talked about. I think no one on this forum has seen the A7r and very few have seen the GH4. I hate to come on here and read this stuff about a rumor killing a new camera. In what world?? Just because it doesn't fit your bill as a good camera? For some the GH4 will be the camera to go with. I have talked with many and they all agree the GH4 is a wildlife dream.. Grab some long glass, make it longer with the GH4 crop and then shoot 4K and pull frames or shoot 12fps in RAW mode. If you dont like a camera dont get it simple as that.
  4. Kinda hoping what you said about the 96fps isnt true in the final camera, I was hoping to use that alot for projects instead of renting the FS700. My hope I think is like most, Atomos or BM will do a 4K HDMI recorder so we can get 10 bit and really push this camera to new levels.
  5. Very nice right there but I have to say I think you are talking about a M43 4K Camera the way you talk though out the writing. I do hope you know more then you have said and it deals with the GH4, as a DSLR and RED shooter this new camera is what I hope to be a great middle ground for shooters. Hope you can say something back to hint at it.
  6. Hi to everyone on EOSHD, sorry to ask this on my first post but I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the new Sony AX1 4K handy-cam. I shoot alot of sports and outdoor stuff. My main thing is photography but I also have done a good amount of shooting video using cameras such as DSLR cameras to RED. All of em are good to me and what I need them for, my top camera being the Sony FS700. One thing that I have not done though is use a small sensor for filming unless you count GoPro and RePlay XD. I have seen very little footage from the 2 new cameras, but the specs are really good on paper, the big one being 4K 60p and also have 630mm of telephoto seems great. But with such a small sensor is there any DOF? Or is it all in focus? I would use this camera for things like action sport filming at events and short films. Or would a camera like the new Blackmagic 4K be a better fit. Space is not an issue for us really and neither is editing the 10 bit files. We have done it before. The FS700 is great but the 12,000 price is hard to look at once you add the 4K, for a smaller company. For that we can just rent the Epic when needed. We want a camera we can own to do some good work when we want and rent higher end when needed. Also I have all Nikon Glass since I shoot on the D7100.
