Might be a good solution for portable powerful pc-laptop? Weights 11KGs, power of a standard pc at fraction price of a similar specs laptop.

Guys, I don't think we have to focus on PB too much. He can say whatever he wants but he can't change the reality. Thinking people don't rely on opinion of 1 or 2 guys. It's getting a little bit offtopic imho.
-
Is it confirmed 128GB komputerbay is slower than 64?

They posted one frame of DNG, dude, for both cameras. Let the punters who wanted to declare the G6 a horribly, horribly soft camera compared to the GH2 based on compressed video uploads of no providence argue over detail and image clarity via streaming sources.
I was just indirectly asking what screen size + viewing distance you need to see the difference. Just curious, because I don't care about BMCC having more details if you can't see quite a bit of improvement in most standard watching conditions (tbh I don't care about it at all since I'm a run and gun amateur wannabe but that's a different story ;)).
-
This isn't "perceived detail", or false detail. This is blades of grass:
...that's unaltered 5D on top, BMCC on the bottom, 1:1 to each other @ 200%
...if it were "false" detail then further enhancing wouldn't further resolve maintained blade structure, here still at 1:1 to each other, 5D on top and enhanced BMCC on the bottom (mild de-moire + my LCE scheme).
...and here we have 5D on top and BMCC on the bottom scaled down to 1080. The comparison would be even worse for the 5D if you were to go the other direction.
Where is the rest of the video. Is it 1 frame video with 1inch viewing distance ? pixelpeeper ;).

I think the CF interface tops out at 150MB/s, could be wrong on that. SSDs would be nice for the capacity but I think 1000x or maybe 1100x is the max for the current CF spec.
Yeah, it's 167MB/s exactly ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CompactFlash#Speed ) which I wasn't aware of. Otherwise my idea from previous posts might have worked. Another question is what are real speeds of those 1000x CF cards?? In ML forum most tests don't exceed 110MB/s (write speed). Is it a card or the camera limitation?
-
"First person to find a way to make a 5D Mark III CF card slot to SATA cable is going to be an almost effortless millionaire :)"
If CF is defined as 167MB/s max doesn't that imply that theoretical CF to SATA cable is still going to be limited by the CF port speed?

nex5n + sb?

All is great and I love it, but time for LOW LIGHT tests now maybe ;)?? Even if in good lighting 5d is not a king (although very close anyway), it should be in low light - good times for us: run and gun guys! Shame I don't have time to install hack on my 5d yet grrrr.

A good business strategy would be to develop high end technology Cripple it for the high end then cripple it even more and sell to the low end. When the high end are finished buying decripple the lower end so it sells by the bucket load then come out with a new range for the higher end that is even better and cripple it for the low end. When your technology runs out of steam You keep your pro and consumer market ticking over with incremental improvements.
Maybe five years ago they could make a £500 camera that could shoot raw on cards they could already build but crippled them.
Maybe the camera market has maximised profit and we have been led like sheep.
Maybe Magic Lantern and Vitaliy are proving this with their work.
and maybe you are wrong

OMG, realllyy? Someone confirm it's true, plsssss ;)

So here's a 1.8" SSD http://www.amazon.co.uk/KingSpec-1-8-inch-50-pin-Solid-State/dp/B007PFI5HS
But what is the Tanboo exactly? I only see one connector on it - is that 50 pin CF or standard CF?
Write speeds seem low. IDE is not as fast as SATA. I'm not sure it will work, but interesting.
Sorry I missed this post. I think it's just a casing. SSD disk is inside that's why you don't see a second connector. I'm not sure though and didn't notice it was IDE and not SATA. So it's not good anyway :(.
I've looked around a little bit more just now and found this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/24pin-SATA-LIF-SSD-to-1-8-50pin-CF-convert-adapter-Toshiba-SamSung-MacBook-Air-/221152781035?pt=UK_Computing_Other_Computing_Networking&hash=item337dbba2eb
LIF SSD to 50 pin CF. LIF SSDs found in macbook pros apparently do around 190MB/s (write speed) as in description in here: http://www.fodomart.com/Hard-Drives/Original-For-Toshiba-1-8-LIF-Zif-128GB-SSD-THNS128GG4BMAA-For-Sony-VPCP116KG-For-Macbook-air-MB543-MC233_433741_p2012041809.shtml (someone would have to confirm it though)
SSD to buy in here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toshiba-1-8-128gb-ssd-sata-lif-THNS128GG4BMAA-for-apple-macbook-air-Rev-B-C-/270921719218?pt=US_Internal_Hard_Disk_Drives&hash=item3f14315db2

Hi guys,
Don't know if it's plausible but this: http://www.amazon.com/Tanboo-Photofast-quot-Adapter-Silver/dp/B00B8QY2KE/ref=sr_1_31?ie=UTF8&qid=1367508846&sr=8-31&keywords=photofast + extension cable + fast 1.8 inch compatible SSD + glue it to the camera. Anyone? ;)

fingers crossed =)

Another whiners thread ;). ok, ok, sorry ;).

Srlsy? Is it the same in eu? Thought it would be a great tool for for example wedding videography, porduct promos (cars etc).
-
Since I occasionally film weddings, I guess it won't be long until the bride's pov hovering towards the altar (and her fate) is an expected standard. Also, when the couple kisses for the photographer (on a green meadow), the camera will orbit them, creating a vertigo of happyness. The veil dance (in some cultures) will be a threesome, the MoVI participating and getting the steps right. We can't refuse to use it, we are whores who must obey the client's wishes.
Talking about POV, as a compensation for the serbian movie, I choose this edit from a masterpiece (put your best headphones on, get into a relaxed mood, enjoy):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VivvaYLpqfE
off topic, but this would be a photographer nightmare :D. It must be pretty hard to do solid photos with someone running around the bride all the time lol ;). Wedding photos are still superior to wedding videos as well. -
Great review, have been looking for a quality light for some time. Would buy it now if it had 3rd knob for overall brightness :/..... hope they'll upgrade.

Tomekk - I see your posts and don't see the logic in them to be honest.
The 650D was a step back from the 600D in both build quality and features.
So the 700D has the crop mode back. Great. That means the 700D is actually the 600D with a new badge, 2 years later!
Is this progress, really?
My review of the 700D would be very short, in fact - I'll do it now.
EOSHD 700D Review
The Panasonic GH3 out performs it in every way and offers more features for a modest $400 more. The Nikon D5200 doesn't suffer from moire and aliasing and has better image quality in both stills and video mode than the 700D, video on that camera is on par with the $3000 5D Mark III yet it is a $800 camera, an almost identical price point as the 700D.
Those who require a Canon DSLR and have a bunch of EFS lenses can save the money and get the almost identical 600D. The new DIGIC 5 processor brings no new video functionality or image quality.
ENDS
And if the image quality is somehow miraculously good with the same sensor and processor as before I shall eat my words. There's no way Canon will allow this camera to be better than the 6D, 5D Mark III or (especially) the upcoming 7D Mark II.
Never said above is not true. I was talking about business economics in general.
-
I don't have any prejudices, just eyes.
That was the Christmas quarter.
October 25th 2012 - 36% net fall, 42% operating profit fall http://www.marketwatch.com/story/canon-profit-falls-356-well-below-forecast-2012-10-25
What you see is close to worthless without considering what you don't see.

Execution is important... If you have an idea to execute. Let's follow your logic and execute on nothing... LAMAOAOAOO
So you have lost money, what's your point? I know, you don't get it.
-
That's a crazy thing to say, nonsense. Without innovation you have no product.
Canon have the same products they had 4 years ago and it is only through a lack of competition, good marketing and people being locked into Canon lenses that they are still market leaders with those same products.
It is innovation that has lead to the smart phone market taking over from the compact camera market in terms of point & shoot photography. How often do you see Ixus snaps on Facebook these days?
I also expect Apple made a bit of money from innovating with the iPhone!! So yeah - innovation doesn't make money right? Christ.
Execution is by far the most important aspect of making money. Apple innovated Iphone? LMAO. You could buy smartphone long before Iphone. Apple's execution was just the best. Same with Ipad etc. They haven't made anything new. They are just brilliant at execution. To give you and idea. http://funnypicturesplus.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/tablet-ipad-surface-star-trek.jpg
Christ?... Stick to filmmaking. That's who you are. Your other theories.... aren't exactly as good as your videos. It's not a surprise though, it's not your field. It's just sad you don't acknowledge it.
BIG NEWS - Hands on with CONTINUOUS raw recording on Canon 5D Mark III

I don't know dude, but in EU laptop which is weaker then that thing is 3000GBP while this is 1200GBP. It's not as portable as laptop but can't complain if I can save 1800 while still it's kind of semi-portable.
I've just tried laptop from your link. Just changed to fastest graphic card and fastest non extreme CPU and it's around 2800USD (and it's still weaker obviously cause they're mobile versions). I'm pretty sure this thing that looks awful for you cost around 1200USD in the USA. So yeah it's not as nice as sager but I'd rather save 1600USD.
