Will Canon recall the EOS R5? Small first shipments
ND64 replied to Andrew - EOSHD's topic in Cameras
I told you few days ago the chip has issues in idle state. Nonody in firmware office forget to code "go to sleep when there is no demand". -
They could use a better chroma NR algorithm.
-
Very unlikely. Nikon tends to pay the least amount of money for license fees.
-
Sony's famous footnotes.
-
I guess many of these guys are confused about definition of "direct sunlight".
-
You need a cover to prevent IR radiation hit the whole body. The problem with passive cooling is that sometimes it works in reverse.
-
What I discovered is that most of camera reviewers are either incapable of distinguishing a high resolution image from lower detailed image, or just lie about that.
-
Based on rumors I predicted it gonna be stacked sensor with 1/80 of a second read out, but it seems just a regular 1/30.
-
Not just 1:1. There is also a stronger AA filter on the lower resolution sensor.
-
You can say that orange Sony rumors site is more hurting Sony sales than increasing. Spreading false hype makes Sony looks over promising and under delivering, which is not true.

I still don't understand why a €4000 camera shouldn't have internal prores, beside this XAVCDEHFTYRXV nonsense.
-
You didn't read the new forum rules, right?
-
Please stop using this argument. Its like saying for trips more than 40km Corolla is not adequate, use Avalon!
-
16 bit is useless anyway, it just stores more of the noise.
-
With 1/80 of a second readout RS will be unnoticeable, and if its stacked sensor, 1/80 is easily achievable.

Its also a journalism scandal.. among all those talking heads and early hands on public figures, only one guy tested it as a hybrid camera, which means combination of still and video shooting, in real world situation, and reporting any abnormal behavior of the device and answering people's questions with clear answers, politely. -
Internal prores would be gift of gods, but at 40k60 you have to swap memory card every 10min.
-
But there are a lot of white pixels between them. Its far from artefacts free.

Blackmagic casually announces 12K URSA Mini Pro Camera

4k crop in this sensor is equal to 1 inch format. 1/200 of a second readout at that size is not revolutionary. -
Oh man I wish there was a way to watch their youtube videos for just laughing at them without adding anything to their view numbers.

Canon EOS R5 has serious overheating issues – in both 4K and 8K

Its 2020 and we still beg camera makers to think more about practicality. -
Almost nobody in its target customers buy that beast for video. And when it comes to still shooting there is no meaningful difference between D6 and 1DX. I don't know why you think every single camera that a camera maker releases should be a video workhorse. And a lot of video spec you assume "essential" is only appealing for a very small number of people. Honestly I've never heard a wedding photographer say "it would be nice if my camera had internal raw video recording". Most of them don't even know how to grade, and hate large files. I would instead bash Nikon for not offering cinematic picture profile, which is exactly what these people need.
