They're Sigma/Tamron sales after all, not Nikon/Sony sales. Canikon and also Sony, make camera bodies to sell lens. Sony had to give away its own potential lens sales to third parties cause it couldn't rival the huge Canikon install base.

Average lens sales per body is 1.5 now, some people are near two, and few at almost 3. This means usually a kit lens plus two primes. Pro shooters and enthusiasts want more and more, but for the rest of the market they did it right.. an all around nano coated weather sealed constant aperture zoom, and couple of sharp primes.

Its amusing to see people call any ILC that has no mirror in front of sensor, a Sony clone! Leave Nikon aside for a moment, most of the new tech or ideas introduced in this industry in recent years, didn't come from Sony. PDAF wasn't Sony invention, they licensed it. and Canon delivered a better version. IBIS was also a licensed tech, and Olympus created a much better iteration of it. EVF wasn't new thing, and Leica was the one who showed how the next generation of it should be. in optics, m4/3 members were true pioneers, and for large sensor glass, it was Sigma who made the bold actions. In video, most of what we now consider as must-have features, determined by Panasonic. In color science, and also the joy of photography, Fuji was the real hero. Sony is good in two segments: making sensors, and marketing. Both unrelated to its imaging unit.

DPR criticism of AF-C is simply rude! I don't call them Canon/Sony fan, and I also don't think Z is perfect out of the box..not at all. but they put a 70-200 designed for DSLR, not even the latest FL one, with adapter, and expected it to work like D5! Seriously? But in video, and with native lens, they couldn't deny that it works fine!

A7S is niche camera.. you will be surprised to learn how low is the number of production. Nikon better spend its limited R&D money on lenses.

Focus coverage is insane ?

No way. Though its equipped with Expeed 6, which is expected to more advanced than D850, but don't hold your breath.

Only one slot card lol But at least XQD is more reliable than SD.

No 60fps for now But AF is way more important. Hope it works well with those two primes!

Nikon destroyed our large 16:9 screen, and its an indication to not hold our breath for video spec.. but still shooters love what they're seeing.

Its also true about Canon.

They better first fix the burn in issue and increase the brightness.

Only 4 days to the announcement and we know absolutely nothing about the video.. its a bit suspicious.

AF-On and joystick are too close to each other

Sony overall ILC marketshare is still %13. The same number they achieved when they were in DSLR/SLT business. in APS-C, despite all the tech buzz, Canon hammered them with a lazy EOS-M effort. Same will happen to FF when Canon releases its mirrorless dragons. And I say this as a Nikon guy.

Plus adding 8TB every year is and will be cheaper. Electricity bill included.

Storage is cheap, but transferring is not, because it takes time, and time is pure gold in Olympics.

Sport shooters (especially those in Olympics) deal with massive number of image files.. they're not asking for higher resolution, which means bigger files.

Hope that massive screen area is not wasted by massive bezels.

Yes, to get 24mm in 4k you need something like Tokina 11-16mm. But I don't want to buy another F mount third party lens.. the last one I got was Sigma Art 135mm cause I couldn't resist its insane sharpness.
