1. Huge respect for this site, but I have to say 'the blogger' section in this post left something of a sour taste. Surely there's room for both cautious and enthusiastic approaches to this development. We're all different after all.
2. Great write up. Would be very interested to learn more about the external battery you are using with the BMCC (and maybe competing battery options). Cheers.
3.
Saddly the Pentax to alpha adapter have a glass on it, so the NEX suit better for this.
Woah. Very good tip xenogears. Thank you.
4.
it will. there is a knack to using it - at first you think all is in focus then realise you should have focused in a little more. after a week you will get to know the characteristics and nail most shots straight away. peaking tends to work best with less wide lenses such as 35-50mm at larger apertures. the shallower the depth of focus the easier it is to see the focus peaking work. also you need good contrasty lighting conditions so it can pick up edges of subjects.
Hey richg101, thanks for the reply. That's great news. Cheers.
5. Hey there people. I'm looking at purchasing a Sony NEX 5n (or maybe SLT a57) - for video. I currently own a few Pentax K manual lenses. Can anyone tell me whether focus peaking will work using the Pentax glass (and dumb lens adapter) on these Sony cameras. Any advice greatly appreciated.
6. I imagine there's no way to add filters to the RX100 lens. Looks like an exiting prospect for video but I'd really miss my variable ND when outdoors.
7. My approach (and I think it's a common one) is to use Cineform Neoscene to transcode the .movs before bringing into your NLE. The Cineform files will be larger than the .movs off the camera but your computer will have a MUCH easier time dealing with them.
