  1. Nah, you and the other canboys just don't like any *entirely valid* criticism of Canon. Canon has made their biggest product launch gaff in recent times and canboys can't bare their beloved Canon being held to account for what Canon has failed to deliver. Meanwhile consumers are spending thousands of their hard earned on products that aren't fit for purpose. But don't bash beloved Canon - that's the real issue here! Guess about it? Every single review (even Peter McCanon's) mentions the overheating to some degree. It's entirely fair to criticise Canon for what is a very evident and serious problem. The idea you can't comment unless you physically own an R5 is laughable. It's just canboys that wan't to stop anything negative being said about their beloved. You have no idea what experience posters here have in filmmaking. None. Also, the basic laws of thermal dynamics are not altered by having IMDB credits.
  2. So the canboys whose get out clause was 'I only use the R5 for stills, not video.' What are you using it for now - a 4 grand canon themed paper weight?
  3. Then I'd suggest you'd be best placed not to comment on issues relating to engineering. There's reports now that even stills shooting causes it to overheat - nothing to do with video. But sure, your externally mounted beard catching fan will fix all. Delusional.
  4. And I see someone who fundamentally doesn't understand hardware design. That trumps your IMDB credits in this department.
  5. Desperately clutching at straws. People 'want to believe' there's a silver bullet out there to suddenly make these cameras usable. There isn't.
  6. It's waaaaaay more physically fundamental than that - can they give a few more mins recording time with a firmware update? Probably. Will that make a professional, usable tool for video? Not even close.
  7. People that think this is a firmware fix are deluded.
  8. I'd have pushed the button on an R6 if it'd actually delivered. I know I'm not alone. As others have said on here, people are primarily disappointed with Canon. The canboy's falsely accuse people of hate. Not so.
  9. Here's Canon's problem. They didn't meet their own hype. They missed it by a mile. In fact, I'd go as far as saying their launch advertising is downright misleading. Deliberately so because they obviously knew the limitations - they designed them. This doesn't appear to be an issue for you. Classic canboyism. You're giving Canon a complete free pass. You're inferring it's not the camera company's responsibility to deliver what they actually promise. Classic canboyism.
  10. Cameras overheating is not new. Canon hyping the shit out of the high end video capabilities then delivering a product that it overheats soo rapidly in those hyped high end modes and recovers soo slowly is unprecedented. The criticism of Canon is entirely valid.
  11. A surprisingly critical review (relatively speaking) from the kings of the affiliate link. I think they realised they dropped a bollock on the R6 video regarding overheating so had to be more truthful.
  12. "But it seems like Canon knew the drawback of EOS R5 which is why the company has already designed a solution for it." So that was Canon's plan all along, knowingly release a defective product but have a clunky additional 'fix' they had waiting in the wings? That's what we're expected to believe? BS if ever I heard it. People are soo desperate to believe there's a magic wand solution to all this. There isn't, it's a lemon for video. The end.

Has somebody somewhere made a pilot for netflix using this camera. I'm sure they have. Do the vast vast majority of netflix prods use a prosumer body with a tiny screen and limited lens line up as their cam. Absolutely not. I'd stop digging.

Would you care to actually refute what I've said based on evidence or just demand to see my CV because you can't?

From working in the industry and seeing what’s used. Yours? Bollocks.

I'm sure he is. How many netflix productions are using an S1H would you estimate?

On the end of a jib for a stunt that might get trashed you might find one. But never for A or B. Just marketing fodder for prosumers, 'My cam is netflix certified'. That's nice!

Crash cam, maybe, just maybe. A cam. Nope.
  19. Yeah, because you'd hype your cameras of a decade up and up and then only 'make' enough to fulfil 20-30% of preorders then make people wait a further four months before they can buy it again. Entirely logical and rational... Listen to yourselves canboys, listen to yourselves.

The S1H did get close in a lot of ways for the pro-thusiast, but the AF was a bust (absolutely needed for a hybrid) plus the L mount lenses are $$$ and not plentiful in range. The Netflix thing was a gimmick. Marketing tool. The vast majority of Netflix productions won't use something at this level.

Yep, some of the best so far.
  22. I'm not interested in exploring your very obvious disconnect with reality. I fear it would result in repetitive strain injury.
  23. I'm referring to those blinkered biased, completely unobjective camera fanboys who will give their camera company of choice a complete free pass and make excuses for camera companies shitty decisions. Decisions that impact customers shelling out thousands of $ of their hard earned on flawed product. If you've actually read my other posts you'd see I actually prefer Canon more broadly over Sony. If the R6 worked as advertised I'd highly likely be buying one. So you couldn't actually be more wrong in your assertion. I'm a Panny shooter at the moment, I have zero brand allegiance and would consider any of the usual suspects. These are just tools. I think you'll find Canon is doing a pretty good job of that themselves. By 'hit pieces' you mean reporting the actual flaws.
