  4. huh. that m5 has same sensor as 80D and DPAF, without the bulk. but, this on product description. "The MP4 format’s small file size lets you fit more on a single memory card, and makes downloading and sharing quick and easy."

I got through half of it. I started watching at 1am and had to get up and 6am to go to work. probably finish tonight. I personally liked it, because I like raw documentary looking stuff.(whatever that means) Perfectly fitting for this thread. It said to hell with low light noise "nonproblem." Even with the fuzziness, I think it captured the feeling. Just made me realize that GAS is bad with me. >.< forgot to mention I found it through Amazon Prime, but it's on Fandor.com and they have a 7 day free trial. So, watching for free.
  6. Requesting footage from GM5 pretty please? 60fps would even be better.
  7. so, kinda back on topic. Would the issues on this video before a firmware update on the GX85? I am totally confused now. fast forward to 4:30 and if so, would Panasonic do the same thing for G85? Or, is this just a stunt to sell more GH5?
  8. hm. I'll look into it. did not know about 60p on that one. thanks for the suggestion.

have not seen it yet. probably tonight or over the weekend.
  10. @jase nice videos! I'll have to look at a used market to see if I can get to GX85 + Nokton. If not, might just start with GM1.
  11. hahaha, I would have to have a long, long talk with my family Chief Finance Officer. I did, for a moment, considered GM1 and one of the voigtlanders. If I can't tell a story with a $250 camera, what's the point? :D

Honestly, I did not need a handle because it rests on your ribs. if you think you need it, get the newer one.
  13. This is from 2012, just from quick google search, "Filters mounted between the lens and imager WILL change the focus characteristics of the system. Lenses designed to have a filter on the rear must always have a filter installed to focus correctly - if you don't need ND, then you must put a clear filter on the rear or you will lose infinity focus or at least throw off your marks significantly. Cameras with built-in ND have that glass factored into their design as well. Not as simple as just slapping a filter in the cavity." http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/archive/index.php/t-278342.html
  14. huh. JVC used for $2,449.95 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/used/1096581/jvc_gy_ls300_4kcam_handheld_s35mm.html

I don't think the plastic grip is worth the extra money. You can find a handle with 1/4 thread made out of metal for about $10USD.
  16. Even Dan from DPR who wrote the G85 review is now saying that there is an issue. ""Dan Bracaglia Update: We've also encountered it. It's really noticeable when panning diagonally, less so horizontally or vertically. I'm going to update the text to address the issue. I'm also reaching out to Panasonic to make sure they are aware of it too."" https://***URL removed***/reviews/panasonic-lumix-dmc-g85-g80?comment=3711844134 I see you replied to that one.
  17. how much discount would there be after 6 months? :D

think i'll rent that tonight. thanks for sharing the article/video.
  19. Thank you for your input. It's much appreciated. IBIS is essential to me, and I'm trying not to go over Around $1100 USD total. I will do some more research on autofocus. What I did with my previous cameras(t2i, nex-5n, a6000) were i would lock focus with autofocus first, then switch to manual, if using kit lens instead of manual focus lenses, most of the time. As much as I like stills on Fuji's, X-T2 is way over my price range(and no ibis), and so as the A6500. Plus, I'm starting to dig the size of M43 in general. Back on topic, I really hope Panasonic fix this issue OP mentioned. I'm in the market for a camera in the next month or so.
