Hey there! So I have an SLR magic 25mm CINE I .95 ( I got it early on the pre-order side) , and I need another lens to match this lens for Dual shots during dialogue. I saw there now is an SLR magic 25mm CINE II .95, what is the CINE II? Is it worth the $150 more? And will it match up ok with my SLR magic 25mm CINE I? Another option was a voigtlander 25mm .95... But Im guessing this wouldn't match up too great with the SLR magic 25mm ? Thank you!!

It is mostly for web output.. So im guessing the glass won't matter much? but I do plan to enter film festivals and make more serious films in the future.. And also, for focal length sake, I need more lenses to make the shoot easier.. I am leaning towards the Contax Carl Zeiss planar lenses, 85mm and 45mm...I dont really understand what the speedbooster does and why its better? (On a side note- anyone know the difference between the SLR Magic 25mm Cine and the SLR Magic 25mm Cine II ? Why is the Cine II $200 more? I need to get another one to have a dual lens on another camera for the shoot)

Thank you guys! If I do get something like the Carl Zeiss Planar 85mm 1.4 or the Carl Zeiss 45mm Planar- which adapter do you recommend for my gh2? Is there a type of adapter that will give me better quality like the metabones adapters? I'm thinking of the Carl Zeiss Planar 85mm 1.4 (from ebay) and then either the voigtlander 50mm or slr magic 50mm.. What do you think?

So I have a decent budget for some new glass or just one piece of glass. I use the gH2 hacked flowmtion V2 with an SLR magic 12mm and an SLR magic CINE I 25mm... I realized last shoot that I need more focal lengths! like an 85mm and also a 50mm... What glass would you recommend for the gh2 in that price range? Something real nice! I was looking at some of the Carl Zeiss glass like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Contax-Carl-Zeiss-Planar-T-85mm-F1-4-AEG-MF-Lens-From-Japan-/171631272292?pt=Camera_Lenses&hash=item27f6056164... but didn't know how it would compare to my slr magic? Pretty much I just want to upgrade my glass and get an even sharper image- if possible... If I can't get a better image out of my gh2, then I just want to choose some lenses that are on par with my SLR magic 25mm.. What can you guys recommend in the 85mm and 50mm for the gh2? I know these are a little above my budget, but the Carl Zeiss CP2 Prime lenses, would these lenses blow my SLR magic 25mm .95 out of the water? Will I even be able to tell the difference for the videos i am making? (Short films and comedy sketches)... Thanks!

Hey sorry if I am going off topic but I just was wondering about some recommendations for my next lens purchase... On my shoot last week, I realized I need more than my 12mm and 25mm focal length. I have the hyperprime CINE I Slr magic 25mm and then the SLR magic hyper prime 12mm... I want to get a 50mm and also an 85mm.. Any other focal lengths that you recommend to have? But more importantly, which lenses would you purchase for the 85mm and 50mm? My budget is decent ($2,000) so I want to buy some NICE glass. What do you recommend for the gh2? Would the Carl Zeiss CP2 prime lenses blow my SLR magic lenses out of the water- image wise? Thanks!

But how come it won't show up in final cut x? It wont let me import. With the older hack when I plugged my gh2- it imported and linked up right away. But with this hack I have to convert the files and then it imports.. I tried a different memory card and the same thing happened- but I tried my other gh2 with the same hack and it recorded fine, so Im not sure what is going on.. I just want to find a new hack that is quality but reliable- can anyone recommend one?

Well I just tried it again and it stopped recording mid shot after 5 minutes (it did this last time), and then when I tried to import and pull up final cut- the files cant be imported - they appear in .MTS format so i have to convert them... Is this a problem with the hack or the memory card? Im going to try a new memory card and see what happens.. But I was considering a gh4 for my next purchase! Can you hack the gh4? Do you even need to? Is better than the gh2 or is there a long debate about this?

It was a brand new SANDISK32GB EXTREME PRO 95mps... I thought it was top notch. I decided to go with a new hack- so which hack would you recommend? Thanks!

Hey so I recently hacked my gh2 with the moon t7 hack from person-view, but when I got home from my shoot this weekend, and loaded my memory card into my macbook- the files were not there. Then I put the memory card back into my gh2 and it said No valid picture to display. I freaked... But after looking through everything I found a bunch of .MTS files on the memory card, and after converting to .MOV, I was ok... But that was scary and I didn't understand. Is it the hack? The memory card? On a bigger note- can someone recommend a great hack for the gh2 or more reliable hack that still gets beautiful quality. Moon t8? Thank you!

Thank you Rudolph and thank you fuzzy! I appreciate the feedback , honestly, I don't have a good outsource of film makers so it's hard to get any feedback on the production side of anything. The lighting needs to improve but also, I think it could have been shorter as well. Just a tad tighter. You are right! But it I really appreciate the feedback and would love some more! I need it. Keep em coming! I guess I'll stick with my slr magic and gh2 for now.

haha you are right. Thats what Im trying to do- just buy something for motivation. I just want another lense to go with the SLR magic but i guess in reality- I dont NEED a new lens.. Some day I hope to upgrade the resolution/quality! But you are right! I know nothing about lighting and the lighting was done by someone with not too much skill in the field. Next shoot I will have more LED lights and hopefully someone with a little more knowledge.. But you are totally right fuzzy and I thank you for showing me. Maybe I don't need a lens. I just had the extra cash. Thanks again for the wise words.

I like it a lot but I feel like I good get even sharper, more cinematic, somehow... Would you guys recommend getting the voigtlander 17.5 or something around that- that could out do the slr magic 25mm? thanks again for all the help.

Do you think if I got that speedbooster mount with the carl zeiss 45mm, that would produce a more cinematic look than the slr magic 25mm with my gh2? Could anyone recommend a lens that would be a level up from the slr magic 25mm- maybe in sharpness?

Its for short indie comedy films. Just an overall beautiful prime lens that out-does or goes well with the slr magic 25mm. Thank you!

Hello! I am new to this forum. I finally joined after years of reading through many threads and really enjoying all of the information. Thank you! But I need help deciding on a new lens to take my films to the next level; Image quality wise. I currently use a gh2 HACKED with an SLR magic 25mm .95 CINE I lens and edit in FCPX. I also have an SLR magic 12mm and some Canon FD old lenses. I really love the SLR magic lenses but I want to get a lens that is even sharper and smoother. My budget is $1,000. I was looking at the Carl Zeiss 45mm F2. But what can you all recommend me to get for a new lens? That goes well with the gh2? This is my first short comedy film and that is what I will be filming primarily: shorts films and sketch comedies. I would love some feedback! I want to get some better quality overall.. I mostly used slr magic 25mm .95.. Should I stay in the slr magic family? What about Carl Zeiss? Thanks for all the help. Share the video if you like it!
