  1. Btw. Does anyone know how theese Leica rebrandings are treated firmware update wise. Meaning are they usually getting the same updates as their panny brothers? In my feeling panasonic is more aware updating features - I have no experiences with Leica, though. If yes it could make sense to go for Leica as we get free three year warranty and Adobe LR for just a hundred euros more.
  2. I think this is the most versatile compact for all sorts of applications - for me it will be an everyday travel companion and a gh4 back up. But we can't have it all at once, panny Wants to sell us more cameras as the 4/3 marked is growing. Assuming that Panasonic has a much faster product cycle we will see a Lx 100 mk II in about 1 - 1.5 years if not earlyer - which will feature: Tilting back (and selfie capable) touch screen Built in nd Same pixel count sensor with larger pixels 2.0 constant aperture same focal length lens You can quote me on that :) What do you guys think - I mean seriously
  3. There are some official Panasonic USA Videos on YT where this Guy Shows the timelapse funktion. So, yes it is in there, yay. "It lets You take 9999 pictures..." I think we will run out of batery after maybe 700 Images, with preview turned off - as the battery is good for 350 shots with lcd on.
  4. Thank you Andrew, for a nice an very promising review and hands on - very much appreciated.
  5. So @andrew Reid did you get your hands on the lx100 and got to shoot with it?
  6. So to sum up, it has mostly everything we want: -Most desired 4k uhd and 1080p modes ( no variable framerates/slomo above 60p though) -Peaking -Zebras -Time lapse - which can be converted to a 1080 Movie inside camera while keeping the full res jpegs/raw -Shutter modes to get 180 degree shutter -Clean hdmi out (?) -4k photo mode - which is great for events I hope it has cine d/v - but I doubt that -43mm filter thread ( hope this is true) so we can put on some nd's or a uv filter instead of a lens cap protecting the lens. What else?
  7. As far as i understand it is a touchscreen - tilting screen is missin of course - but you can alkways use a Smartphone and the lumix app to control it -or preview from a difficult angle.
  8. Andrew, i don't understand what you find liberating about the solle watch - I think its the opposite - also without the iPhone it's useless. I really do like this new lx100 - the bigest downside on this, which makes it practically Useless for filmmakers - it has no Nd built in - at least it doesent say so. I dont think Its a good sollution to use magnetic clip on NDs. I guess thats also the reason were not seeing any shallow dof footage from the Demo clips. And its also a shame that it doesent have a intervallometer. Other than that - for me it would have been Perfect. Really looking forward to your hands on.
