  Update to fact check: Yes, it's true Google acquired Android and was working on it in 2006... what most folks who mention this normally leave out the fact that back then, Android was a total clone of... the Blackberry OS (then the world's most popular smartphone). iPhone and iOS was released in 2007. Then Android was announced with the first Android phone on sale in 2008 sporting an interface that looked like...??? (Hint: nothing like the BB OS).   ;-)
