  1. Thanks Andy! I have been checking out the Distadons and the Yashica. Wish you still had that second set to sell!
  2. I am looking to build a lens set for my BMCC MFT that has the following characteristics; High contrast Lots of color saturation I have tried some lens like; Canon FD - beautiful creamy look Sigma Art Lens 18-35mm - great low light and sharp but sort of sterile Some Rokinons - I am sort of leaning back towards these SLR Magic 12mm - great lens I use it for low light and wide angle but I am not sure what its characteristics really are. I am really going for a warm skin tone, high contrast, HDR look, lots of color saturation almost to a comic book level, very much like from this fight scene www.anyclip.com/movies/doa-dead-or-alive/women-fighting-in-rain/ I know most the heavy lifting would be done in post but I need to commit in general to a lens set. What about Angenieux and certainly these looks tempting https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/665053329/veydra-m4-3-cinema-lenses-for-gh4-and-bmpcc The trouble I am having is that people seem to love the desaturated look so it has been very hard to make a decision from other peoples footage. I know renting the lens would also be a good idea. I own the Sigma 18-35 and the SLR Magic 12mm so it would be great to stay within those but since I am posting this I guess that means I am not entirely sold. Thanks in advance for your input!
  3. Andrew, Is the Expeed 4 made by Toshiba? And does it scan the image the same way the D5200's Expeed 3FR sensor does which helps prevent moire and anti-alasing? Or will the D5300 have mire moire and aliasing since it lacks a low pass filter? I recently bought a D5200 from the info on your site but will return exchange for the D5300 if there isn't more moire and aliasing as the wi-fi capabilities and 60P video sound great. Thank you!
  4. From Tech Radar.. http://www.techradar.com/reviews/cameras-and-camcorders/cameras/digital-slrs-hybrids/nikon-d5300-1190188/review?src=rss&attr=all "However, it hasn't used the same sensor as is in the D5200 (which still continues in the company line-up), as the D5300 uses a new 24.2-milion pixel device without an optical low-pass filter. We're increasingly seeing a move towards sensors without low-pass or anti-aliasing filters because they offer the potential to capture more detail albeit at the risk of moiré patterning." So that would mean better performance for stills but not so much for video?
  5. I want to know if the sensor records video the same way the D5200 does that eliminates moire and anti-alasing.
  6. I am very excited by this! I think the price is spot on. I have always felt a little Johnny come lately to the vintage lens scene and the anamorphic craze on EBay which has prevented me from using such a potential creative option. I emailed about being a volunteer and have a wonderful idea to showcase this exciting new lens combo. Fingers crossed.
