  1. I'm trying to find some DECENT remote flash triggers for the GH4 but it's not easy.

Does anybody know of any good flash triggers/transmitters that are GH4 compatible? With good range and reliability?

I'm using Nissin and Metz flashes.

  2. By shooting color charts with your camera and a Canon you can create a transfer function in the form of a 3D LUT. This could be possible with something like SpeedGrade (and/or Resolve if it has a frame/color match feature). This is tricky as 3D LUTs are sensitive to exposure, color temperature, etc. The best way to get Canon (or better) skin tones is to shoot with ARRI (;)). I shoot stills or raw video with the 5D3 under the same conditions as the A7S to then match the A7S to 5D3 footage in post (using white balance, curves, ProcAmp, etc. in Premiere). The next version of Premiere has a color style match feature from photos- that might also help (shoot Canon/5D3 stills to provide the color match template).

I don't have access to any of those tools. I'm just working with stills and I only have Photoshop.

  3. I've been trying to figure this out for a while but I can't get the formula right in Photoshop.

I'm taking portrait stills and I want to get the gorgeous color skin tones that Canon's cameras produce.

Is there any Photoshop action or method I can use in post to do so?

  4. I've been hearing a lot of conflicting info about this.

Is there one aspect ratio for stills that will garner the best quality/dynamic range over all others? I've been hearing 4:3 is the best aspect ratio for stills because it "uses the entire GH4 sensor".

Is this true or will they all give you the exact same quality?

  5. Hello all!

My GH4 RAW files are no longer being read in Photoshop and updating doesn't solve the problem.

Could somebody please upload the .dcp file for Photoshop's GH4 profile? It's in the CameraRaw profile folder.

For me it was: C:ProgramDataAdobeCameraRawCameraProfilesAdobe Standard

  6. I'm looking to Canon colors STRAIGHT OUT of my GH2 for video. Or at least, as close as possible.

I know there's white balance settings and film settings you can mess around with, but I haven't been able to get the balance right.

Does anybody know what settings I can use to get Canon Colors?

  7. I want an amazing M 4/3rds lens for shooting video and ONLY video. Preferably, as beautiful as possible and with great colors.

Right now, I'm torn between the Leica 25mm F1.4 and the Voigtlander F0.95. Does anybody here have experience with eitheir or both of these?

Also, will the GH2/GH3's focus assist (Hitting the touchscreen and having it zoom in for focusing) work the Voigtlander since it's manual?

    Thank you for reading.

  8. I've been reading a lot of reviews about it, but there's just one problem.

None of the reviews used a GH2/GH3 with the lens. They're all using Olympus cams with it.

My concern is that the distortion will be AWFUL with a GH2/GH3 because it doesn't have built in correction like the latest Olympus cams do.

Can anybody confirm or prove this? How does the lens fare with the GH2/GH3?

  9. I know the 5D3 beats the GH3 for depth of field, but what about actual still image quality? I'll be doing food photography for which I won't be making large prints, just for the web.

Has anybody here used both the GH3 and the 5D3 who can post their experiences/examples?

    Thank you.:)

  10. I got an Audio Technica 4047 mic and an Audio Technica 4053B mic. One is much longer than the other one but they cost about the same.

I set both up to record dialogue between two people for a video I was shooting and the 4053B sounded MUCH better than the 4047.

The 4047 sounded like I was in a soundproof studio and nothing else was around. When playing the video with the 4047 audio, it didn't fit right at all.

But the 4053B sounded so natural and made me feel like I was actually there. It didn't sound closed off and isolated like the 4047.

    Why such a big difference?

  11. I'm going to get some serious gear soon and I have to upgrade my current shotgun.

I'll be shooting a lot of interior shots in small to medium sized rooms. From what I've been told, a shotgun mic like the MKH 416 is terrible for indoors, correct?

What's the best indoor mic for $1,000 and under?
