1. I just found out I'll be traveling in Scandinavia for the next year I just finished accumulating all of the various rings/adapters for my kit so it hurts to let it go so soon but I don't want to carry it all around while I'm backpacking etc. and would prefer to just carry a Nokton 25mm with me!   SO   Here is my kit, I am willing to A. sell for $850 (shipped only to USA) B. trade for Nokton 25mm plus cash on my end C. trade this kit PLUS Panasonic 25mm F/1.4 for your Nokton 25mm and cash on your end   anyways here is the kit   Kowa 2x anamorphic Bell & Howell Helios 44m Prime Helios 44-2 Prime Redstan Clamp (newest version) Novoflex M42 to M43 Adapter for prime lens to body M42 to Ef mount adapter Stepper Rings for primes to Redstan clamp   Thanks :)
2. awesome thanks! I have all my gear except waiting on my redstan clamp, I am moving to Norway in two weeks so ordering gear is a very last minute thing so was trying to get on it before its too late!   Thanks for the info, I'll look up the vlc player tip and im sure ill get the focusing eventually, it is a relief to know it is still somewhat possible on the lcd :)
3. Hey guys im looking for a solution to monitor my anamorphic setup. Obviously the lcd will be next to useless as the footage will all be distorted so I am wondering if i can run the hdmi out to my laptop to monitor it there? Is everyone just picking up smallHD monitors to correct the footage for focusing or has someone found a way to use a program on their laptop to correct the footage for monitoring? I dont care about recording the signal I just want to be able to see what is in focus or not   Thanks!
4. Hey guys, thanks for your responses I ended up doing some more searching around and found a cheap solution Here is a rail setup with adjustable lens support, the 4 reviews it has speaks very highly of the construction quality http://www.amazon.com/Fotga-DP500-Support-System-Matte/dp/B00857R0TE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1354902567&sr=8-1&keywords=fotga+500 I ended up finding it cheaper on ebay with a matte box here http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fotga-DP500-DSLR-Matte-Box-w-15mm-Rail-Rod-Support-for-Follow-Focus-Rig-5DII-60D-/310419572936?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item484672c8c8   I ended up ordering it so ill review it once i get it and let you guys know!
5. Hey guys, so im waiting for my redstan clamp that should be here any day now but am looking at my setup ( Kowa Bell & Howell and a Helios m42 lens) and comparing it with the gh2 body mount and im a little worried it might need some support. I remember it mentioned somewhere, possibly the anamorphic guidebook but it was quite expensive, but am wondering if there are any cheap support options you guys have found? Much thanks :)
6. thanks! i already have a few helios and takumar lenses so ill try them out for sure :)
7. I did purchase it :) and read through it but obviously not all of it sunk in haha, i saw a few particular points of the lens such as Lomo 35mm Oct19 (failed to look for anamorphic ironically) and when looking at the lens it appeared as though it had curved glass so i assumed, seeing as how it was coming from russia the description wasnt too detailed but I assumed it was correct! Facepalm! However! I was able to cancel the order and orderd a Kowa 2x anamorphic Bell and Howell lens which should be here soon :) It is coming with a Nikon 50mm 1.8 but I am looking for a different lens to attach it to my camera with. I have some old m42 lenses but I dont believe the threads on the front of the lens are in good enough shape to mount a step ring to. Any other suggestions for primes for this setup? Thanks!
8. Hm, perhaps i bid on the wrong lens, It states Lomo 35mm konvas Oct-19 Okc8-35-1 is this not the correct lens? "fingers crossed" haha EDIT thanks so much for mentioning how much they usually go for, looks like i ordered a non anomorphic version, hopefully its not too late to cancel!
9. or should i just be mounting my anamorphic to this http://www.ebay.com/itm/OCT19-OCT-19-OST-Konvas-Lomo-OKC-OKS-anamorphic-to-GH2-AF100-AF101-adapter-/251054129457?pt=US_Lens_Adapters_Mounts_Tubes&hash=item3a73fe0131 and then to my camera?
10. Hi guys! I had newbie crunch for breakfast and then bought the anamorphic guide and read through it.I then ordered a setup recommended in it but need to know which clamp to buy as I am somewhat unclear still as to how the mounting works.I purchased a Lomo 35mm Oct19 2x anamorphic lensand a Canon Fd 35mm F/2 SSC recommended for the lomo 35 in the guideI will be using my new GH3 (once Panasonic ships it to me!)so i purchased the Fd to M4/3 adapter to mount the fd but my question is how do i mount the lomo to the canon? I read about the clamps in the guide but which size do I get?I asked google first but kept drawing blanks, all help is appreciated! whoops!! now that i look at it i think i was a bit naive in ordering ( though it appeared to be anamorphic i think the one i bid on is actually in fact no anamorphic!!) fml
