1. Good Lord, if I could do that, I'd just buy the FS700! EIther way, I'll send him some dough next pay check.
2. Andrew - Since you've limited discussion to certain NEX cameras perhaps asking for donations across the board is a bit much. To wit, when I asked about the VG20 you posted "Let's concentrate on the step by step plan Someone 1.00 has provided to narrow and focus the forum a bit more. NEX 3, A77 and NEX 5N bodies. A55 testing." Now I can understand one developer wanting to concentrate on certain models, but if we can't query about all NEX cameras, then I'd say you're limiting the number people who might otherwise donate. In other words, it shouldn't hurt for us to ask if certain models are hackable (esp when some of them -like the 5N and VG20 - share the same sensor). My initial question regarding the NEX VG-20:
3.
ps. superb music in your video. Blaine and Mac. It sa shame this piece isnt longer.
I try not to murder too many cpoyrights in my videos... But it sure is a great score. I dig what you're saying Andrew, but I just had to have something bigger then a DSLR. I'm very happy with it. I know one thing, a 5N would've overheated in about 10 minutes out in that sun. It really was brutal.
4. Hey guys - first post for me - I have a question: Why not just buy the Sony VG-20? While it doesn't have the scene color selections of the 5N, it's a proper video camera. I have one, and it's a fun little beast. Far as overheating goes, I shot a Memorial Day dedication in record setting heat with one - in the sun - and not a single issue. Having come over from a Canon DSLR I can tell you that I was very impressed with that. Here's the footage for what it's worth (they called me to shoot it literally an hour before hand, so I ran out the door w/o my dead cat... which helps explain the spotty sound):
