  1. Sorry, I misspoke. The Flea 3's we're using aren't the 4K units, the res on ours maxes out at 2080x1552. The issue with Flycap (earlier version) that we have had from time to time is unexplainable crashes/lockups. The software quits running - usually when you are trying to do something difficult to repeat. To be fair, we've recently updated the Flycap version we are running, and haven't had any problems yet. I haven't run it enough to judge it cured, but so far so good. The cameras are well made and pretty robust though. If you've got the money to spare, it's probably worth a look as a curiosity, but I wouldn't expect miracles.
  2. We use these cameras at work, and although they have good resolution, trying to build a video system based around Flycap will quickly make you insane. Great cameras for image grabs, not ready for cinema in my opinion...
  3. Since there aren't any optics inside the adapter, you might consider putting self adhesive "flock paper" on the surfaces that might be causing the reflections inside the adapter bore. I'm not defending the OEM shipping a product with problems, but being able to put Canon glass on your camera is a pretty exceptional capability. I know I'd try it before I sent it back. Telescope builders use it inside the tube to eliminate reflections and increase contrast. It's available at a lot of places, may be cheaper elsewhere, but here's a link just FYI.
