1. Hey there, just wanted to share some great documentary work of a friend of mine with you. It's shot on a GH2 with orion v4b in 1080/25p. It truly shows of the power of a hacked GH2 in a real world scenario, so make sure to have a look: future megacities - The IGNIS Project (HD)
2. The version postet by MatthewP does indeed look better than the one seen before. It's interesting to see how different some of the shots are when it comes to resolution. His sweater does look sharp most of the time, but his face not so much. Overall sharpness also varies from shot to shot, might also be depending on lens selection. Some of the shots look as if they would have greatly benefitted from stopping down the lens by one or two stops. I'm not really a sucker for digital sharpness, most films shot on the RED suffer from way to sharp images in my opinion, mostly when screened digitally. People tell lots of great stuff about screening quality of Act Of Valor and the 5d Mk III surely is going to top that. I'm surely not saying the 5d Mk II is better than the RED for cinema, but it can perform quite nicely when treated right. Have a nice weekend everybody!
3. Pretty neat news. 91Mbit/s sounds great to me, but I'm desperately hoping it's 422. Given how impressive the GH2 can look at around 80mbit/s with the 420 compression, the 5d3 with 91mbit/s and 422 could be killer. I'm still hoping for actually gradable material, that was recorded by any video DSLR (or mirrorless photo camera). Fingers crossed!
4. Hey everybody, I really like this evolutionary approach, that brings all the really important changes to the 5D system. My only problem at the moment is: How to get one as fast as possible? Andrew: I know you live in Berlin, and, as I am german as well, thought you might have a tip for a german online store, that might be comparable to Adorama or B&H in the US. Amazon.de usually is very slow with pre-order options for new cameras. Thanks!
