  1. Well they could have said NO to the discount, their pricing strategy is completely up to them. Just because other manufacturers tend to give group offerst doesn't mean they should be obliged to do it as well. I expected the price way under £400 but I would feel silly writing them letters to lower it down. At the end of the day, giving 10% is like offering free shipping and that's better than nothing. Although they should be happy too because they get eager beta testers without any Kickstarter campaign and good marketing. Hopefully everyone wins at the end.
  2. I hope thet do an official release soon. Would be great to see more about the bundled accessories, especially for follow focus users.
  3. The support looks too DIY, but I'm sure it works.
  4. Careful, the last two lenses are not anamorphic, the first one is. Keep looking on Ebay, those prices seem too much for me.
  5. Rich, without any irony: You do many things, DSO, Isco service etc, why don't you do rehousing as well, if it's that easy?
  6. "You can open a dispute in the Resolution Centre of your PayPal account within 180 days of payment (or 45 days depending on when you made the purchase)" "The reference to 'depending on when you made the purchase' refers to the fact that payments made before that day would still come under the terms of our user agreement before the update. This means that they can only be disputed up to 45 days. Any payment made after June 17th can be disputed up to 180 days."
  7. Hang on, I think PayPal extended that 45 days to 90 or something to make a claim recently, look it up!
  8. Looks really well done mate!
  9. Actually after he rolled out with the focusing module, it would be super awesome if Anamorphic Shop could come up with a simple fixed focus 1.5x anamorphic "tube" something like those lenses from the Widescreen Centre but purposely designed for the FM lens. I would love that! After the VM lens he could certainty pull it off.
  10. I don't mind putting it on the taking lens if it doesn't increase vignetting noticeably. But I'm really the Vari ND guy. I don't know if I can still rotate that in between two lenes, even if they don't have to be screwed together. Losening the lens holder, pulling it out, adjusting the ND and sliding back the anamorphic seems silly. But this is just a theory, early to guess what works out the best on the FM.
  11. Yeah, surely it is bloated with CGI and I would agree with you usually about using practical effects more, but somehow that COD video is so intense, and over the top that it makes me want to see more. Hardcore's trailer had a lesser effect on me.
  12. Great concept, although I found the new COD theatrical trailer a bit more impressive: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GccGbdLqTmQ Although I'm sure they spent more money on this 3 minutes than the entire budget of Hardcore.
  13. Really sad to hear that mate, sounded like such a great concept though.
  14. If he doesn't want to sell that lens outside Germany, he will get much less than €2000. Another german Isco sold for roughly €1000 a few weeks ago, in perfect nick!
  15. Luckily it has, the info is in the comments section on their FB page.
  16. That slot is taken by the Speed Booster in my setup :) But for someone else it is perfectly viable.
  17. This could be an option, available in the UK too: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/849775-REG/Hitech_HT105MULTISTOP_105mm_Multistop_Neutral_Density.html
  18. Heyya, Glad to hear more about this! By the way, the front filter diameter is 105mm. How do you guys plan to put NDs on it? Step down rings, matte box or maybe a Cokin X-Pro holder? I don't remember if the front will rotate actually.
  19. According to wikipedia, the Cinegon is basically the same lens as the Isco 36 therefore they should behave the same way. I hope someone can clear this up. I haven't heard about this issue yet.
  20. Ah come on. And if he is involved or not, who cares. Let's not accuse each other. Such a small community here, don't kill it.
  21. Same guy same ISCO that was posted here a few weeks ago. Strangely the topic disappeared in a day..
  22. The only thing worries me that they are relying on 2nd hand anamorphic lenses, and we all know what happens when the demand gets high on things like that. The FM lens's price might feel fair, but in 4-6 months the 2x anamorphic prices might go double or even triple. And that's not a pleasant thought.
  23. I think I will keep looking for the lipless version or an Isco, I like to go for sure. Also first I want to see some follow focus in action. So I will leave the early adopting to you guys :)
  24. We were bidding on the same lens then :) My max bid was €105. The Schneider he uses in the video is actually a bit different, has no hood/collar on the front. I'm wondering if it will affect vignetting in any way. Another observation: The focus ring is moving up and down. Any ideas on using a follow focus?
  25. Oz, it's the focusing module.
