  1. I know it's probably a stupid question, but what is to stop you buying an FD to Nikon G adapter so you can use FD lenses with the Nikon to Micro 4/3rds Speedbooster. I have loads of old FD lenses so a native adapter would be absolutely superb but is this an option.
  2. I'm not giving up on the GH2 just yet, but it seriously falls down when compared to this camera for stills. In the right conditions the GH2 does take great pictures, but JPG's straight from the camera are poor in comparision to RAW and I always find myself having to alter the images to get a more pleasing result. The Olympus seems to nail it straight out of the box. Also I find the dynamic range of the GH2 just doesn't cut it the same as a lot of other cameras, clipped hi-lights being my main bug bear. This then leads to the inevitable -2 stops or so to allow for this and the noise then in shadows. I guess we have to wait and see what the GH3 is going to bring to the table, but the IS on this camera is a real masterstroke, considering you can ( for stills at least) use it with any lens. This opens up a world of possibilities for my old FD collection.
  3. At some point this is going to be very tempting. The 5D is a phenomenal camera and it would be lovely to have access to it's amazing stills performance and low light video . Trouble is that would mean entering the world of Canon lenses and that's a sure fire way to empty the bank balance if you know what I mean
  4. Just bought Clipwrap as FCPX was having problems with the footage. No such problems now, and you can playback in the Finder easily. You can also choose to encode footage into ProRes flavours and DNxHD, but doing it this way  ( rewrapping the .mts to a .mov) you retain the low file sizes of the h264 original files.
