I found out a similar thing for the Canon via C100/C300. It seems like there is coming out a "smoothed out" version of 8-bit out of these cameras and when recorded with a Ninja2 with ProRes or DNxHD 220x in 10-bit it makes a difference to the just pure 8-bit codec of the C100/C300. http://ntown.at/blog/2014/02/05/canon-c100-ninja2-10-bit-workflow/
