  1. @Jonesy An actor friend of mine gets screeners sent to him occasionally and I have recently noticed they are going out at reduced framerate like 20p. Just a thought
  2. Hi John, I get something similar under W8.1, the Mercury CUDA engine sometimes works and sometimes does not. For sure its a PITA. I sent off a trouble ticket to Adobe on this , perhaps you should also.
  3. @Cosimo Murgolo I am looking at this thread in the light of the Forum rules on Selling. It would appear that you are setting yourself up as an agent for these goods, and I feel obliged to remind you about the Forum rules on Selling detailed below: PROVE THEY HAVE THE GOODS - Request to see photos of the items being sold with their EOSHD username displayed alongside it, preferably in handwriting on piece of paper so it cannot be faked. COMMUNICATE - Check their forum posting history, see if they are new. If they have a genuine history of posts and contributions to the forum, the seller is more likely to be genuine. - If possible speak with the seller by telephone - Until a deal has been closed, converse with the seller openly on the forum ASK FOR ID - Get a real name, address and ID - If they refuse full details on privacy grounds, ask to continue the deal and all private comms via eBay instead of the forum USE SAFE PAYMENT METHOD - DO NOT use Western Union or wire transfers - PayPal is preferable over bank transfers - Ask if they accept cash on collection SELLERS - Sellers should provide a price in the main topic - Sellers should provide a link to their feedback on eBay and be contactable via their eBay account - Topics that don't meet these rules may be at risk of being deleted DISCLAIMER EOSHD is not responsible for buying and selling on the forums, deal at your own risk and buyer beware In addition to these rules I will also remind you about international regulations governing Rules of origin for imported and exported goods: https://www.gov.uk/rules-of-origin other countrys have equivalent legislation, designed to prevent under the counter trading in goods. I dont make the rules here, Andrew Reid does. If you feel that you are a special case, then you should seek relaxation of the rules from Andrew Reid personally and display any concession granted here. Else you run the risk of having this thread purged.
  4. Anamorphic Zoom, CinemaScope Flares, Follow Focus, Pull Focus, Oval Bokeh. Basically everything you need to know about Rectilux 3FF in one clip. The world of Anamorphic shooting defined in one clip. Ungraded NEX 5N (-3,1,-3) No focus assistant used or required. The vintage look digitally remastered and only 500g in weight.
  5. Experiments in Super Wide Anamorphic, ungraded footage, camera NEX 5N. (-3,1,-3) Including some tighter shots for comparison. Hyperfocal distance is tiny at these focal lengths. Cylindrical distortion is normal at these focal lengths. Ultra Wide Anamorphic will come later on Canon 5D
  6. @Nick You sent a PM to me last year entitled Top Secret about a 1950s scope which had single focus, when in all truth you got the information from this very forum. So what's Top Secret about that?, why are you claiming this as yours? Now you are talking about priority, have you been here ? http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/4466/most-wanted-anamorphic-lens/p20 read my first post on that page. Since it is my post I will post it here for the world to see: JohnBarlow October 2012 @slrmagic Much earlier in this thread you acknowledged the existence of a vast number of 2x projection anamorphics. Most of these units have a minimum focus of between 3-5 metre. To get closer you need CU dioptres with the rare 0.5 dioptre most sought after even by those with Isco 54's. There quite clearly is a need for close focussing attachments and I was thinking specifically of a variable focus close up. Below is a simple design schematic for such a focussing adapter which is afocal when closely grouped and has 0.6 D when spaced. The spacing could be adjusted in a helicoid and this would make the projection anamorphics very desirable. Your thoughts on manufacturing such a unit ? So I am wanting to know if Andrew Chan had plans which clash with mine. Get it? This post was October 2012. Now you are discrediting me and distancing yourself from me. What are you doing Nick?
  7. @Nick Brown, I've just taken my statins, ramipril and other medicines, so I thought during this coffee break I would reply to your earlier post. As it seems we are no longer on 'speaking terms', it gives me carte blanche to speak freely on things. You express wonderment about this 'invention', and yet seem quite coy about its workings when we both know that in over 80 emails, PMs and Personal Conversation archives the workings of such a device were explained with the information mainly flowing from me to you. Have you already forgotten the "John Barlow is a genius" video you sent and also emails saying I have cracked the code? I have them all on my hard drive. Did you think for one moment this was discovery live? You express distaste that I alerted the world that we were in contact privately and yet you freely told me about your discussions with Richard Gayle etc. Unsolicited by the way. What sort of standards are you operating here? persona non grata? Richard Gayle has expressed his business interests and mine are also no secret. So, step up to the mic Nick, tell us all about your business interests. Tell me,is this a masterpiece of subconscious revelation?, all your own work, so you say. http://www.quickhitrecord.com/feature.php?path=files/pages/02phishing.php
  8. I will getting my Schneider Cine Xenons back from a job next week and will be able to show close pulls, bokeh and flares Meanwhile, I have stripped out the Audio and made Parts 1&2 public

  10. Dear Richard My words are just words, I am guessing that you must be providing the emotion and your spin on my words Once again I am being friendly and respectful, despite your straw-manning comments and insults. Andrew Reid told me he would like to see a level playing field and so would I. Why don't you invite Mindaugas Komskis to join this discussion?. I am getting the impression you are acting on his behalf. sincerely yours, John
  11. Yes 2 dioptres to get the claimed 50cm focus. However I am seeing magenta/green CA all across the frame in that focus clip even in the center of frame on the object stacked on that shelf.
  12. Dear Richard, Andrew Reid has requested that I be friendly and respectful in my dealings with you. Please tell how this can work when you are being so disingenuous? sincerely yours, John
  13. Hey Nick, if you don't mind I will have a stab at answering your question :) Remember the discount voucher I sent over to you to get those $4 lenses from Surplus Shed back in January when we were discussing these things? Well, completely out of the blue Tony Wilson contacted me last week suggesting I was using the exact same focal lengths as those $4 dollar optics that we bought, amazing coincidence for sure :) Rectilux is very very different from a $4 optic. When the information about the focus throw in millimeters from near to far of this FM lens gets out, then we will know for sure what focal lengths are being used. Perhaps when or if anamorphicshopcom (Mr Mindaugas Komskis) decides to make a personal appearance here, then he will fill in the blanks. I am looking forward to that. I am also looking forward to seeing the footage with all the scopes it is claimed to work with.
  14. @Stu Not sure about your price range, but take a look at this Fotga unit with A/B hard stops http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Upgrade-Improved-Fotga-DP500IIS-Dampen-Follow-Focus-A-B-Hard-Stops-for-15mm-rod-/251316997617?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a83a90df1
  15. Recticlips are short ungraded clips illustrating a feature or an operational aspect of the Rectilux 3FF. Here we have some slow handheld focus pulls to a WWII memorial over 60ft away, using a Sony E1.8/50mm taking lens behind the Rectilux 3FF. It is instructional to compare the mumps in this clip with the mumps of a Vantage Hawk between 01:27 & 01:30 in the clip below it, which was shot in the confines of a small living space
  16. @Cal I left it at 32:9 so you could see my fingers performing the focus pull :) The vignette disappears when cut to 2.35:1 I have the revisioneering prices for the KOWA 16S on the website http://www.transferconvert.co.uk/cinemania/rectilux-3ff.html Perfectly matched optics, smooth and light 10 start helicoid, centricity accuracy <0.1mm, focus throw 195 degrees and Floating Zone Focus for crisp closeups down to 0.65m (2ft) comes as standard Angenieux like performance at 1/20th of the price and it works with primes as well as zooms as proven. I also have a KOWA 16-S available from stock today.
  17. Seems to have an issue with inverted ghosts (of the child out of shot) in the time 00.03 - 00.06
