I like my Panasonic but I regret selling my Canon..

You can get great colors out of the Panasonic cameras if you play with the picture profiles a little. It's a little less straightforward than the Canon cameras and requires different treatment (for example, don't turn contrast down in-camera), but they're capable of great results.

That codec muddiness and blotchy noise bothers me way more. Panasonic's clean, crisp details and fine monochromatic grain ticks all the right boxes for me.

Maybe I'm a bit ot/ but besides the 5d3 which is the best canon DSLR  for raw video?

I don't think anything other than a hacked Canon DSLR does raw video...  As far as DSLRs go.  Other than that you are looking at Blackmagic cameras... which aren't DSLRs.

In the $2,500 or less range no one else is doing raw.  There is some work on Nikons but I don't know where the hackers are on that.

I don't think I will ever sell my ol' 5DMkII, it has been very good to me, and continues to work well.
Actually, I see that I don't sell anything, I seem to "collect" gear as well use it.
*8^)
I am wanting a GH4 now, having being bit by the video bug.
Recently got a package deal on two Kowa 2x anamorphic for Bell and Howell lenses,
and two Sankor anamorphic 16F lenses.
Been playing with these and my 5DMkII.
Now wanting the expensive Rectilux 3FF-W adapter.
