I'm going to primarily use this to film landscapes, cityscapes and scenery in varying levels of light. I also plan on doing event videography as well as tons of still photography. The NX1 would be at the very top of my budget and I'd need to get glass. How is the NX1 as a stills camera and is the 4K H.265 as cumbersome to deal with as I've read everywhere? Liam Posted April 23, 2015 Share Posted April 23, 2015 (6:15 for video - really short section) actually pretty impressive. didn't expect it would be a full pixel readout. 60p, probably pretty sharp (needed for landscapes), flat profile if you want it, good Nikon colors. Can't tell too much from youtube though. gotta be better than canon at the same price. can't change aperture in live view I guess..? don't know if that would be too annoying for you. also the 60p crops - hoping the normal 1080p doesn't(?) - I'd understand not wanting to jump all the way up to the nx1, I think this could be a good choice Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

ProRes / H.264 for your editing software.Stills are very good, 13 stop dynamic range and as good in low light as the D7200. What do you already own?I actually don't have any gear to call my own. Been renting/borrowing 70Ds when I need to. I don't mind the extra crop in 1080p60. Any added reach in video is fine by me most of the time (especially when I'm shooting skylines from a distance). Ekt was saying lenses were just part of the budget to keep in mind, not that the nx1 would require a different set than for the d7200. There's about $300 separating the cost of the two bodies and the D7200 is offered with a nice 18-140mm kit lens for an extra $250 and I do want to get at least a good prime lens for my video work.
