Let’s share our work guys!  I’ll start. Here is an interview I shot and lit the other day, featuring a congresswoman from Indians!  One camera was a Nikon z6 recording into an Atomos ninja v.  With a Tamron 45mm 1.8.  The other was actually the ancient, cheap Canon 7D fitted with a Canon 85mm 1.2 shot at f/2.5!7A962651-8F13-422F-BB3C-44971A127F76.thumb.jpeg.d4666d323389303ec29e5aae5e64fe28.jpeg

Nice!  For the fourth shot up from the bottom, did you use negative fill?  Any sort of scrim for diffusion, or did you shoot at golden hour?  Looks great, as does everything else!

Thank you! You can go ahead and assume that there was neg on everything except the super wide shots. I’m a bit lazy when it comes to scrimming, so no. The scene in the park was actually shot before golden hour, which is why the light on them is so hard in the wider shots, but i like the edges that you get from that. For the closeups, the sun was already behind the trees, which is why it looks so soft in comparison.

We had a tube light which was intended to emulate the hard edge, but obv it wasnt powerful enough at all, but i still liked the slight extra level it gave on that side of her face.

Well, here is something I got tagged in yesterday that I worked on (as the Sound Mixer of course):

Can't seem to see any trailer for 女儿来了 (My Daughter Is Coming) anywhere online though?

Here is a little review of it:

(and the whole thing can be viewed online, but costs $$: https://ondemand.showmeshorts.co.nz/film/nu-er-lai-liao-my-daughter-is-coming/ )

Was shot by Darryl Wong on an ARRI AMIRA:

The trailer for my new YT channel about diving deep in the Mediterranean Sea.

All shot with a GH5 and a GH5S with several wide angle and macro lenses plus wet lenses and CRI 95 Keldan lights.

Great stuff!  I've done a few trips to places with reefs etc and have filmed a bit underwater (GoPros) and it's definitely not as easy as it looks, with many unexpected challenges you wouldn't anticipate if you have only shot above the surface before.

I was freediving so couldn't spend much time at depth but one trick that I found was super useful was to find something interesting like a coral with fish swimming in and out of it and to place the camera down there so that the coral was framed nicely in the foreground, then I would swim up and leave it there.  The fish all take a little bit to relax and then start coming out and looking at this new thing that has appeared in their world.  I was using PVC pipes as my "tripod" as they are just press-fit and can be adjusted and re-arranged while out on the reef, and because they're white the fish think it might be food (meat) so are rather curious.  PVC is only slightly more dense than water so a small rig made of mostly PVC will sink slowly but place very little weight on whatever you put it on.  By the time the fish are starting to explore my rig I've swum back to the surface and around in a large arc so I'm now in the background of the shot swimming on the surface towards the camera, so the shot you get is a stationary tripod shot with curious fish and me swimming toward camera in the background.  Then I dive down and collect the camera.

I'm not sure how practical something like that would be with much larger rigs like you have, but it seemed to work well for me.

i think lighting wise this looks nice, but framing wise i would set up the camera a bit higher, and then angle it down slightly to make this man look a bit better. I personally wouldnt center frame interviews, but i don’t necessarily mind it either. Ideally i also wouldn’t show anything beneath the logo of the football team to get a proper medium close up. I think most of your work looks good, and this is personal preference, i think you should consider stopping down more. I think you would benefit from having to shoot at f/5.6 on that big of a sensor and getting to see your background a bit more.
