Very interesting. The camera is now actually reading thermal data instead of the internal timer, so cooling it works from the looks of it. 

This matches with other reports that you can now put a r6 into the fridge to help it cool down or https://m.dpreview.com/articles/3725693825/firmware-v1-1-1-makes-the-canon-r6-much-more-usable
