Gold vs Red ISCO

Hey everyone - just want to say as a newcomer to anamorphic shooting, this forum has been really great.

Can anyone clarify the difference between the gold and red ISCO ultrastars (the small compact ones)? From my understanding the red ISCOs are sharper, but does that mean drastically sharper? I'm about to buy a gold ISCO ultrastar on ebay (with the solid blue star) the price is reasonable compared to the red ISCOs which are almost twice the price.

My previous lens was a Sankor 16c and I was disappointed with the clarity on it - even after being tuned the image just seemed a bit hazy. Will I see a big improvement with the gold ISCO?

The gold isco is very sharp compared to the sankor.
