Is there a lens adjustment in a Jupiter 8

I compared my Jupiter 8 to my Super takumar 50mm 1.4 and the Takumar is noticeably sharper.

I'm using the Jupiter 8 with an adapter on my BMPCC 4k. Is there an adjustment that might need to be made.

No it is just a far inferior lens. The Super Tak is world class for sharpness. The Jupiter is just plain and slightly above average imo. I only like it as a small nice looking lens on a small camera. The Super Tak is my favourite lens: besides the sharpness you get nice character, possibly from the radioactive glass. Jupiter might have heavier smoother bokeh, but it doesn't help much as the lens never gets particularly sharp. 

The famous 85mm or 90mm Jupiter has more going for it imo, although I have only used it for a few hours (not a focal length I like on APSC). But it has left me wanting the Jupiter 3 50mm f1.5 which is also L39 mount like the 8. I expect that lens will be a great buy in a small package with a small L39 adapter needed.

You seem to be very focused on sharpness, but seem to be buying the wrong lenses for that.

If you're talking about using it on your P4K (like in the other thread) then maybe you should just invest in the Sigma 18-35 1.8 and Sigma 50-100 1.8 with a metabones SB and be done with it.  They're super sharp and will cover most of the range required.

If you're chasing sharpness wide open and also the softer contrast of vintage lenses then the Tiffen filters can give that look quite easily.

dont believe all the hype you see on youtube. Plus i have heard it can take quite a few purchases before you get a good one.

If your new to it all a wiser path may be to acquire a few known lenses or even a modern lens or two. After you nail those lenses down move wider a field. I think lens reviews get a lot of interest, personally i think most lenses are done and dusted, but people keep doing them and some people get abit creative or wax lyrical perhaps on esoteric lenses or aspects of their particular lens. After buying three different russian lenses i'm a bit more cynical now. and my enthusiasm has been curbed for lenses, well russian lenses at least 😉 

it does require a small adjustment to your wallet.

I hate the look of the Sigma 18-35. I had one.

I actually bought a voigtlander 40mm, it's awesome.
