Speaking of TRUMP, why don't we see Richard 'Mr Dogschidt' Gale here anymore, anyways? Or an Andy Lee? Or KidzRevil? Matthias Burling? Or Jonpais? Over quibbles or just staying away, better things to do?

Andy Lee left us when we all were regaining our confindence in 8bit MFT cameras due to his G7 tests. Bought mine because of his posts, then he left the forum. :) I barely used it because GAS made me buy the GX85 right after it. And I was still enjoying my mighty old G6. @kidzrevil was one of my favorite camera fans, just like @maxotics was one of my fav tech professors. One should never get into lengthy posts with cynincal and hostile touches. By the way, no country is greater than others. Great is not a measurable quality, just a measure to get disgusted by if meant in superiour self assurance. I miss a few posters  but I have been away for a while too. I hope Kidz will come back posting.

1. Nationalism in all forms sucks.

2. I think everyone has their own reasons for why they'll take a break from posting here. I'm sure many of those mentioned will show up again. People get busy, burned out, etc.

3. Re: Trump, it's becoming increasingly hard to look past people's continued support for him. Part of it is partisanship, which is toxic in its own right, but if you can't see the racism, the bigotry, the cronyism, the greed, the lack of human decency, etc. Or, worse, look beyond all that to find the "positives" about him, what is one supposed to do in response?

Ultimately it's depressing that the paradigm has shifted so much when it comes to political discourse. The bar has been lowered so much that to partake in the discussion at all means you're probably going to get covered in human feces. COVID-19 will come and go, but that unfortunately is here to stay for the foreseeable future.

The last time I was in Cambodia was on a tourism shoot and I was driving through small rural villages.  The communities seemed to have more fat white western males in it than actual villagers.  It really made my skin crawl.

There's one guy I really can't get out of my head.  His pudgy visage hit me the same time as the epiphany of what was going on.  Not great.

It's kind of crazy that I could easily pull quotes from Ronald Reagan and it would sound as if Bernie Sanders delivered the lines yesterday on some podcast.  I could probably paraphrase the Declaration of Independence, post it on Facebook, and start a flame war among half of my friends that would disagree with what I typed.

It's a wild time to be alive, one where people trash socialist policies but then are relieved to hear they're going to get a free check to help them out.

It's a confusing time.

This is deeply suspicious and points to a kind of fake user linked to a campaign of some sort.

This is quite an interesting insight into the sort of shit that walks amongst us all on any form of internet communication platform.

Not so long ago, the notion of hordes of actual humans sat in sheds somewhere pushing agendas for whoever it was hiring them seemed plausible but still a bit fanciful to me but no more and at first glance this appears to be one caught with their pants down.

But after selecting Sandy28334041's profile and having a look at their tweets (all replies to other tweets of course not a single original one which does scream Troll as well as the username obviously) I have to say that it could be legitimate because the replies are in context and there is a degree of consistency to their agenda so, honestly, I just couldn't tell you definitively one way or the other.

And I think that is the problem now in trying to establish if an account is a professional troll or not because they are getting better at appearing to be real people while some real people are simultaneously getting "better" at appearing to be a professional troll.

Especially now with the pandemic, everyone turns to the state again, like the good-ol' socialistic days of the 80s, when the dream of the United States of Europe was driven by socialistic governments and leaders for a whole decade and a half.

It is obvious that health has to be provided by the state, to all citizens. No private hospital or health institution can accept anyone with Corona right now. At least in Europe, except if it is ordered by the state/country.

Already there are rumours of some Air companies to become national again. Air Italia is a certainty.

So, the two poster services of this new capitalism - private health care and air ways, already shown signs of weaknesses to a real crisis, and not stupid man made recessions of an already screwed economic system, like in 2008. The system just re-arranged itself in 2008, now it will be re-arranged by the circumstances that can not truly control.

This is da shit, U.S and U.K want to "open for business" in 3 weeks from now, but the only business that will thrive in 3 weeks, will be funeral services, unfortunately - and I hope not. This will be a real blow to the policies of those nations there. You can not ignore real world issues like that.

This is not a 3rd country, 3rd tier epidemic, this is an all world pandemic (unfortunately for us humans, it is a 3rd tier disease. Imagine an Embola pandemic or the 21st century version of the Spanish flu. We are that little).

A few good things.

Some companies in Europe "illegally" reverse-engineered some parts that couldn't be brought from overseas fast enough and 3D printed them.

3D printing for health care is going to another level. A company based in Prague provided the health system for free 1000 masks (big ones that protect the whole head, it is like a mini shield) with things they resourced in Prague "in one afternoon".

Most doctors and national health systems are providing data on an unprecedented level for the very first time in history. Cheap and easily made tests are very near in manufacturing already and we hope for a drug at the minimum (which unfortunately is 18-20 months from now, the testing process can not be hastened much, imagine if you inject 2-3.000.000.000 the wrong thing!).

People will respect more our basic needs and resources. Our way of life is not sustainable.

I do think it's naive to assume people are not being manipulated for ulterior motives across the board.  Somehow Americans think they're immune to this while, ironically, being the most vulnerable to it.

i expect communications, netflix and tv stations to be the big winners out of this. If the internet breaks with the sudden influx from the corona virus then you'll probably see some pandemonium. the younger generation and some of the not so younger gen cant seem to live with out their devices. Although i kinda feel the same way if i cant get a coffee in the morning 😉

I remember a talk from an older pastor years ago about the 1919 flu in melbourne people died, and thats tragic in it own way,  the other problem was there wasn't enough strong or well men left to bury the dead.

i'm not so sure people will respect more our basic needs and resources.. qld got rid of single use plastic bags which got replaced with stronger plastic bags that you bought for a dollar. So instead of supermarkets giving away free plastic bags when you shop, you now pay for a plastic bag. Not sure that counts as a win for the environment or the supermarket. Six of one thing, half a dozen of another . Some people use their own or bought fabric bags. they should of probably banned all plastic bags and been done with it. However if you use a fabric bag every few days to carry food those bags should probably be washed weekly for hygiene reasons. I wonder how many do that, i haven't lol. I worry that the cheap fabric bags wouldn't stand up to many washes anyway.

Another thing is, we now get ten cents for most cans and bottles i'd collect all the bottles and cans from various bins around the factory and in the street to where i parked my car which was always some distance away from the factory it nearly payed for my fuel weekly, my point being if i'm collecting that much then there's truckloads more people out there that simply dont care. So if most people cant care about the little things its no surprise they dont have a clue about the bigger things either.

Too many are making the mistake of thinking freedom is a right to do whatever you like whenever you like. Freedom to be an idiot or a danger to others is not a freedom at all, I'm not the least bit concerned if a few of those type got themselves culled, the problem is alot of innocents will get taken out as well.
