For what its worth, I have a vested interest in everyone on the planet buying Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Cameras so colluding in some sort of fabricated denigration of them would be completely self defeating.

Because of that vested interest, it doesn't make me blind to facts and it also doesn't serve my purpose for them to alienate customers either.

Sometimes the emperor is stark bollock naked and it needs pointing out for his own benefit as well as ours.

Wow,  how deep  have you gone .  Once again is there any proof of of purchase. Let the man speak up for himself, and forget about what Your Emperor said about buying a camera that was or wasn't purchased because he cracked the shits with John Brawley and Grant Petty for not getting inviting him to a part months ago.

How deep have I gone?

I went straight back to the date last year that I remember personally using it because it needed no more than that really.

But, fair enough, don't take my word for it as it proves absolutely nothing.

You have a good day too mate, but apart from your memory you offer no provenance at all as well. We dumb fuckers in oz probably would have taken our iphones out of the crack of our arse and filmed it ...this so reminds me Ed David's pathetic effort a few years ago at B&hH  spelling the end of BMD and a camera that was falling apart on the shelf when he walked in. Sadly Ed left his camera phone home that day and could't provide provenance, nor could the 100 workers he claimed were working like slaves at B&H. So sad that no workers at B&h had had phones with cameras, they must have been slaves.

I think in time my memory will be shown to have been pretty accurate over this.

But why on earth would I have taken a photograph of a camera that wasn't mine ?

However, I did take a few photographs with my phone of a camera that is mine when it arrived new and sealed with debris in the sensor, scratches on the lens mount, damaged internal packaging and a hastily re-applied screen cover with thumb prints all over the screen.

And I can indeed provide you with the receipt.

I didn't return it because I was busy creating a product for it and I never bothered revealing how shoddy a condition it was in because I'd already seen with my own eyes that this was a known issue.

Is this enough provenance for you to accept that this might well be a thing and is not related to who and who didn't go to a party ?

I'll repeat again that the only skin in the game I have with Blackmagic is that they sell as many cameras as they possibly can.

@Andrew Reid, since I speak Dutch and you bought the camera in the Netherlands - were you aware of the fact that the dealer sold you a showroom model? (Because it had been listed as out-of-stock in its warehouse?)

The box was sealed with the original cellophane.

It hadn't been used in the store. It came from the store shelf brand new.

They have two locations for stock - the showroom, and the central warehouse.

I paid full price.

Futhermore, they always clearly mark ex-demonstration or "used" goods on the website and reduce the price. They were a reputable dealer, one of the largest in the Netherlands, not some shady red-light district illegal one
