Damn, I know it’s early but this is pretty exciting. I am going to have a little extra spending money in a few months. In the back of my mind, I was considering picking up a 5D4 while I had the money in hopes that ML would crack it eventually... maybe I’ll buy the EOS-R instead.

The next firmware update “RLEDID14.FIR” was successfully loaded by the boot loader and firmware update program in the EOS R from the Canon firmware update menu. This is big news because it means Magic Lantern code was able to execute on the EOS R as normal.

WHAAAAAT NOOO WAY SO SOON OMGZ?!?!? GREAT WORK GUYS AWESOMEEEE

i didnt even have a chance to write a post about how insanely disappointing this frankencamera is :)

thank you for your sacrifice Andrew!!! it is clearly God's will that you bought this camera at this very moment. worst case scenario, you could get one of those long haired guinea pigs to sail on it. theyre pretty cool

that moment when I laugh hard in the plane and everyone looks at me...

Noob question,

I thought a bricked camera could always be recovered by Canon service by replacing the chip or motherboard even if you had to pay for it.

I've never had that problem with Magic Lantern, so I don't know.
