Yeah hopefully it will not get that cheap so it will turn into a gimmick as we have seen with gymbals, drones, sliders,... as the high price of anamorphics is probably also one of the reasons it looks this good, as you dont see it daily. The first time I saw a drone shot, I was like wow this is amazing, same for gymbals. But after a while I got pretty tired of it as everybody was using it and as a result a lot of videos look the same.

Gear has little to do with a good artistic work. And I am certain that the more available anamorphics become the more we will see great independent artist putting them to use. Money has nothing to do with artist talent.

If the few samples I am seeing from the new SLR Magic 65 anamorphic adapter are any indication, it would seem SLR Magic are upping the quality of their anamorphic adapters. Hopefully, we will seen these improvements in their dedicated anamorphic primes also.

For the cost of that thing combined with an MK, and the fact that it’s still a dual focus operation, I’d sooner go with a true anamorphic or rent one.

It doesn't have to be used with the Fujinon MK zooms, but even so it is a hell of a lot cheaper than buying an anamorphic zoom lens!

You and I can’t afford an MK and adaptor anyway, no use getting all worked up about it.

Yeah it is Only 1500 bucks, not bad. You are not going to get a 40 thousand dollar Cooke lens for 1500 dollars. So a lot better than nothing, or trying to have some Frankenstein setup hanging off the taking lens.
