Resolution does not matter.

They'll work for 16K too! ;-)

Well, specs say:

"Supported FPS modes: 23.976, 24, 25, 29.97, 30, 29.97DF, 30DF

(...)

Supported sync outputs: PAL, NTSC, 720p, 720p2 (double frame rate)1080i-PSF1080p, 1080p2. Word Clock standards 44.1, 88.2, 48. 96 and 192KHz"

https://www.timecodesystems.com/product/ultrasync-one/

Which infers HFR is not available either.

Or am I missing something?

Ah, you were asking about 4K which is resolution not a frame rate.

And off speed frame rates roll without sound.

Sure, but they still state that from specs. Reason why I'm wondering about. Have you checked availability there?

Availability of what?

And I use my timecode boxes with plenty of 4K cameras. Resolution doesn't matter at all.

If you've tested to sync on those timecode boxes going along HFR too?

David, I am only wondering because of those specs... why so then?

I don't have that product, you instead have it... :-)

As I said before, off speed shooting is done MOS.

Then when the camera returns back to the standard fps (Which is irrelevant to resolution) we're using for the project it should automatically jam back (well, if the camera manufacturer did their job right. Not always the case)

Of course.

My goal with is 3D acquisition.

When I read those specs, what I am able to conclude from there? Resolution can be relevant. HFR not available to sync there too.

Oh right, you want to genlock at 60fps or higher for 3D capture? Hmmmmm...

(again, resolution still doesn't matter, but I see your point now about fps)

Indeed : ) And those specs on the paper make such need to obtain a further solid answer on that. Would you have any way to test it? :-)

You know I think I did read someplace months ago where the Z Cam E2 Cinematic Camera is US$33,880! It was sort of like the thing GoPro makes where it has like 12 of them linked together to do that 360 degree stuff for iMax I guess??

Yup, ProRes RAW is meant to be coming in the future for the Z Cam E2.

Not happening anytime soon, ProRes licensing from Apple could take years and they might be likely to reject Z Cam as it's not a well established brand.

They could just implement CDNG with a higher compression ratio. That would bypass their internal processing, which is utter garbage according to the clips which have been released so far (and there's no setting to dial sharpening and nr down) and it works in Davinci Resolve or even others after conversion with tools like slimraw.
