The second one is better.... I've used both and the second one will remain smooth over time, only because its easier to clean and maintain.

I have the second, from Neewer. I think it's really good for the money. Works great if you don't use a too heavy set up. Using it with a GH3, cage, rods, mattebox, and fluid head makes it to flex a bit at the end if you use only one tripod. But with a lighter set up it works great, very smooth. In the image you can see the heavy set up (only for testing purposes).
