Which Timecode gear to invest into?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've been pondering which of the many time code options to invest in (as the choices have exploded lately due to NAB 2017!), and it seems like the "best" bang for buck option would be the Timecode Systems' UltraSync ONE bundle for US$915?  (1 x :wave + 2 x UltraSync ONE)

As that price/features ratio seems unbeatable! (although I wish I had a rough idea of what the Tentacle Sync E will be selling for)

Unless someone can make a compelling argument for Ambient NanoLockit / Tentacle Sync E / Betso TCX-2 / Denecke SB-4 / TIG Qbit / etc instead? I'd love to hear why!

Rumor has it, the Tentacle BT system/access points are about to be made public in form of an SDK (software development kit) so third parties can sync to/from it (or develop for it) over... BT.

Well that is very interesting.

I just picked up a very cheap Zoom H3-VR on my travels to have a play with and one of the clinchers was the V2.0 upgrade now includes support for UltraSync BLUE so I suspect support for Tentacle won't be far behind it if it releasing an SDK.

I suppose the SDK would make it more feasible for an inveterate tinkerer to look at making some sort of converter that glued the UltraSync and Tentacle together as it at least provides one side of the puzzle.....

You'd hope Zoom would support as wide as possible range of companies. But I won't hold my breath. (I own both systems anyway)

As Zoom supported B format decoding for Sennheiser AMBEO, but has done nothing for Rode NT-SF1
