Yeah we've been seeing a ton of 3.55:1 ratio videos lately as well. Pretty bold, but I guess its becoming acceptable now and they're not willing to crop a little off the left and right side. No personal preference here...we like 2.35 and 3.55 really. Here are 2 more big videos from Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber ft. Big Sean.

The Justin Timberlake B&W Bud Light commercial looks like it's anamorphic based on the oval bokeh and the big horizontal flare in the beginning:

That's the thing about 3.55:1. Everyone in the mainstream was saying "it's silly it's too wide". Then someone puts a famous person in the middle and they say "it's awesome how creative". You should always do what you like! ;)

yeah, while packing up to move i pop on mtv for the first time in years and was surprised at the number of anamorphic/anamorphic-esque videos,... some big people obviously been lurking round these here parts.

 

there is a black and white Rihanna one as well,.. cant recall the name.
