substance Posted July 18, 2016 Share Posted July 18, 2016 I've been using Andrew's NX1 LUT which is great. Not tried the hack yet... just wondering if there are any implications? ie. Will I still be able to use the LOG LUT after I've installed the hack? I assume the controls for sharpness, DR, gamma control and luminance level etc. remain the same? Thank you. So it won't change the way you are using the log lut from andrew which you apply after shooting anyways. So you can use the in camera setting from andrew as you did before the hack and add the lut in final cut or in the third soft you use to convert h.265 to pro res. Nothing changes. SMGJohn Posted July 18, 2016 Share Posted July 18, 2016 The hack improves bitrate if you so desire, what that means is banding is almost eliminated and you get far better fine details in places specially shadows, there is a tiny improvement in dynamic range for light but nothing to preach about.
