Affordable Boom Poles?

I'm on the fence about which one of these two cheapie boom poles to get, and would appreciate some feedback. I guess the "On Stage" is the better one, however the "Cavision" is *half* the weight! Which I reckon could be a significant factor by the end of a long day.

This also looks tempting, is nearly 3m and is only about a hundred bucks (with FREE shipping! An important consideration when it is often expensive to get to NZ :-/ ). So a little more expensive than either of the other two, but has hugely more reach.  (& from the pictures it looks like it allows internal cabling too!)

Oohhh.... Aliexpress has the Miliboo Z901 at an even cheaper price:

Has a slightly different tip however to the eBay one however So don't think this one would allow internal cabling??

Thus I think the extra $12 to get a tip that allows internal cabling (plus a few other extras like a case for the pole) would be worth it:

Thoughts?

Well....  I have just had a frustrating attempt at communicating with the seller for this:

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Miloboo-carbon-fiber-4-sections-microphone-Handheld-Grip-Rig-Support-Rod-Flash-Light-LED-Light-Boom/32332844915.html

Because I wanted clarification on the tip used at the end of the boom pole (if I could run internal cabling through it, like on other Miloboo Z901 ones I've seen listed).

First response: a single happy face emoji! :-o What the hell, that is no kind of response at all

Thinking that perhaps they did not understand me, I tried again but in Chinese (" 如果你觉得用英文不方便表达,也可以用中文。").

Second response: the single word "sorry". Huh, seriously?

Hmmmmm..... I'll take this as a hint to buy from a different seller instead.

Thus I feel I shall go with this one here instead:

I haven't done internal cabling with it yet.
My plan is instead to get a wireless XLR plug in once the Saramonic UwMic10 XLR plug in transmitter starts to ship.

But I haven't be often using it, is great, very lightweight!

Going to later this year buy the Came TV boom pole as well, so I've got an even longer ball, and to act as a 2nd back up pole to my main Miloboo pole.

I needed quickly a boom pole for a project but I had no time to order it so I made it myself :D looks a bit ridiculous, but worked very well :)

It is made from an extendable pole (for painters), something like this, one T tube, one reduction tube and some rubber bands, costs me around 7 euros :D works like a charm with the NTG-2 :D

I love stuff like this. Made my own bridge superzoom rain cover using a dense plastic bag and a Saxo salt container that just happened to be a sliding push fit on the housing around the lens. Looked ridiculous but got me shots that the broadcast cameras couldn't get at a number of events where it was smashing it down.

Just finished making one for my a7sii and 55mm that sits on the lens hood and protrudes four inches from the glass without any vignetting. Used a Bisto gravy container and stepped down the diameter by using insulation tape (needed three millimetres packing to get a push fit).

At the screen end I have a semicircular canopy that allows some latitude beyond keeping the camera horizontal and I can get in to see the EVF if need be.

Rain covers are £10-£40 but are poorly designed and don't keep the glass free of spots. Mine cost £1 for the insulation tape. Will be using it in London next weekend where the weather is notoriously wet during November, though I am now hoping we have a load of snow :)

Nope none, I can't compare it with any high end expensive boom poles as haven't used them, but I am very happy with my Miloboo boom pole. I use it all the time, used it again yesterday!

The Rode boompole Pro is alright too. Quite cheap, carbon fiber and has the Rycote patended connection mechanism that it used to be my favorite when I was using Rycote booms. Unfortunately they sold the patent to Rode, and they made something slightly cheaper, but slightly worst too, but for the money you are getting an alright boom, and with a case.
