Hi guys, first of all thanks for all of the work you share and also for the info and comments.

I live in Argentina and find this anamorphic lens for sale:

Do you know this brand or adapter?

Since I can get it for less than 200 bucks, I was wondering if it was any good.

Thanks!

most of the 20th century fox label stuff is 2x.
that is gonna be a heavy and rough old lens.f8 if you are lucky 1 kg and dirty.
buy a slab of concrete or 5 bricks locally cheaper and probably better optical quality : )
no magic in the really early stuff just pain, sorrow and because of bulky size trip fall over lens on floor through plate glass
window.

this looks cleaner and cheaper a better version

Hi guys,
I finally got a dirty brick for $30.-
Just like this one, but dirty.

It's HUGE and heavy.
I don't know if it will be of any use (I'm afraid not) and I couldn't even find a way to mount it.
But it was 30 USD................................................

The Carl Zeiss anamorphics are superb lenses I have 5 of them
they are sharp and produce very nice royal blue flares
they have a very cinematic look about them
These lenses where designed to project Hollywood 35mm Blockbuster films are are so much better than
any soft tiny home cinema Sankor / Proskor /Sun 16mm lens etc

I use them on my Tecnoir Rig

I only use 35mm projection lenses as Ive gone through all the 16mm home cinema lenses over the years you can get and they are all soft when you campare them with 35mm projection lenses...........I really dont like any of them .
35mm projection lenses produce much nicer sharper cinematic images.

the best lenses you can get right now are the Schneiders
these are simply stunning - Canon L Series sharpness !!
