It will need a rig as our DSLRs need. I'm working on a project with a scarlet and we rented a full rig for that and yet, depending on the lens, it is too front heavy for my taste. Even for balancing on the steadicam is a problem some times...

And by the way, BMC will be a problem for monitoring on a steadicam rig since I've never seen a sled with HD-SDI cable to connect on the monitor below, only composite/BNC or HDMI. Even my steadicam Zephyr only have this 2 connections.

Perhaps they let the HD-SDI working also on SD mode when needed so you can connect the standard BNC of the steadicam. I hope...

If you're are fully funding your own stories, this camera will be a great tool.
If you're just trying to hit some festivals to pitch your story talents for outside funding of a full length feature, just grab a GH2 or 60D.
It seem the better the resolution and pro look of anyones video, should be equally matched with production design, along with director skill.
It's easier to forgive the guy who did a okay job with a t2i and blast the guy who was mediocre who shot on Red.

Yeah, Im planning of grabbing one near Christmas, then'll I'll use the next year in building the skills to try and master it. By the end of the next year I'll decide if I wana upgrade to BMCC.

Interesting, what did you use for the closeups with the sparklers( those were insane good), and the shot of the woman with the grafiti?

All the sparkler shots were with EF Canon "L" primes. A 50mm mainly and a 24mm. The woman with the graffiti is a 50mm CP2.

I did actually go to a bit of trouble to explain it all.

He has a pre-production demo as have Frank Glencairn and Seb Wiegaertner. The problem is he's not allowed to do a full review of the pre-production unit, so he like everyone else will have to wait for the retail units to ship.

I am number 7 in the queue at CVP for the retail unit.

The reason I don't have a demo unit is because I didn't push hard enough for one. I am more interested in reviewing the finished retail unit and paying for it myself as a keeper.
