  2. We are already discussing monitors that allow for proper anamorphic monitoring here: http://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/1832-monitors-for-2x-and-15x-stretch-preview/ But I thought that it would be useful to have one thread where we all share our Custom Scale settings for anamorphic monitoring (especially since Magic Lantern has brought back 4:3 shooting in raw mode at assorted resolutions). For those unfamiliar with this feature, the best description that I have found is in the manual for the old DP1: http://www.eoshd.com/comments/uploads/gallery/album_14/gallery_18451_14_22383.png
  3. Hey guys, To start things of im a real noob to DSLR filmaking and im filming longboarding. Longboarding consists of really fast movement and i cant find the right settings for capturing this action. The camera i have is a NIKON D5100. I have it set to manual and i just want to know: The perfect shutter speed if im filming a 1920x1080 24fps and when i put it to 1/50 it tends to blur the movement. The right aperture. the right iso and exposure. Im mainly filming through cloudy over cast scenes. And as well sunny.
  4. hey i have a sony alpha a58 and the settings are all different to what i expect and i was wondering if someone could tell me the bestb settings for the sony alpha a58 and im mainly filming skatboarding.  I tried one setting and that quality was really un detailed and i really need someone to tell me the best setting for it. From memory the settings were 'avchd' and 'mp4' but when i shot in mp4 the quality was crap and i had it in 1080p.  please can someone tell me whatb the best setting is!
  5. Hello.   Thanks to Andrew...his review made me buy the RX100...i am very happy with it!   So now i would like the settings to match the GH3 with moderate flat settings for filming. Has anybody tried this out? What are your settings so that in post it is not too hard to match them? I am talking of film settings here...contrast, sharpness, filmtype etc.   Regards Michael
  6. I have been using a Hacked GH2 with Flow Motion 2 the preferred setting...I just got a GH3 and I need some guidance from those who know on how to set-up the two cameras to use in a Multi-Cam edit so that the picture quality, colour, look and feel are similar. Perhaps a different hack for the GH2 would be a better fit with the GH3, I don't know.   Any thoughts?   Creagle
