The Next Big Indie Filmmaking Idea on Kickstarter: Lume Cubehttps://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1193685734/lume-cube-flash-and-video-light-for-gopro-iphone-a?ref=nav_search Though the Switronix TorchLED Bolt seems like a great product, it's awfully expensive. Also, considering that it's impossible to make do with just one of those (it has to be softened down, and probably reflected off to get it as fill light apart from the spot light), it is not the right tool for Low Budget Indie Films (especially Shorts). I saw this a few days ago, but, it's only now that I read the entire specs sheet. This is a Superb Idea for Indie Filmmakers. With 3 of more of these, you have Super Portable Lighting, which is controllable via your smartphone (both Android and iPhone). The brightness, and flash can both be synced via the phone, and you can control upto 5 of these devices via Single Device (phone). What's even more amazing is that it's water resistant, has a magnet, and some dirt cheap mounting options via Joby. I doubt whether it can get better than this. The Cherry on the cake, though, is that it has internaiton shipping. I think this would be superb, especially for smaller spaces. What do you guys think? cool Kickstarter project - DSLR mounting hub
Tom Dowler posted a topic in CamerasHi everyone, I'm posting this because I think it will genuinely be of interest to at least some of you, and I'm really hoping it isn't considered spam, because that is definitely not my intent. I'm a DSLR filmmaker and I developed a cool little widget thing that I'm now making available via Kickstarter. It's called the Multiplate and it stays on your camera all day long, and lets you mount things like a monitor, 15mm rods, follow focus, matte box, handles, etc - without having to switch out to a totally different configuration. Just attach the pieces you need, take off the ones you don't and carry on shooting. [attachment=500:The-Multiplate-sm.jpg] There are only 10 days left on the Kickstarter and we're pretty close to the funding target. Take a look (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1822814480/the-multiplate-the-dslr-filmmakers-essential-mount) and see if it's something you might be interested in helping make a reality. Thanks!
Teaching with Violence short filmHi everyone! Sorry if this is frowned upon, but we are looking to shoot a new short film, and have started a IndieGoGo campaign. We already have investors in place but are looking for that little bit extra to help us reach our full budget goal. If you could give but £1, or at least share/like the link, that would be amazing. If you are as short of money as many are due to recent festivities, we fully understand! So if you could at least have a look, and share this link with everyone you know, just to help out, it would be highly appreciated. Here is the IndieGoGo link: http://www.indiegogo.com/twvfilm/x/126209/ Here is our previous film: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soNR4aZkaAg Regards, Owen
