3. Just put my Elmoscope II up for auction:     http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300905958653   The Elmoscope II is a rebranded Kowa 8z /16H.   Here is a sample video I shot with this lens of me bleaching polaroids,... thought it'd be more interesting than random trees an' shit,... not that there's anything wrong with random trees an' shit,....   This is straight out of the camera,  filmed with the Elmoscope II on a Contax Zeiss Planar 50mm f1.4 set between f2.8 - 5.6, on a Lumix GH2 with the Valkyrie TZ3 Beta2 patch. 100% manual of course. No color correction/ adjustments / leveling / grading / fx other than unsqueezing in post.   http://youtu.be/K8PWJ5XSCVE   more details in the listing, but if you guys have any questions fire away :)   cheers.
4. Like to share this short film which is part of a larger project. Shot with GH3, slrmagic 35mm and Kowa 8Z. https://vimeo.com/65543988
5. I own the Kowa 16H, which I have recently received and tested with both a Red Epic, a BMCC and a set of Nikon Ai-S lenses. I found that the amount of barrel reflection on heavy flares caused a very strong yellow vignette. I thought it was my particular Kowa, but then I see the same on several Kowa B&H shots. I have now seen this on all sorts of light from sun light to LED to sodium vapor to fluorescent, from medium taking lenses to tele end. I also hear it is common on other anamorphics.   Is this a known issue, is there anything that can be done about it? Does it happen more to some lenses than others or is it inherent to the design of the anamorphic adapter? It does not seem to happen on an Optex lens I've borrowed. I've spoken to two lens technicians who say it is either the design or the lack of blacking on the edges of the front element (?)   I would want to use my Kowa but find the usefulness limited with these vignettes occurring anytime it flares. One thing that comes to mind is to try and add a vignette of my own in post to hide the yellow vignette, but may look to obvious. Will need to do some testing with it.   I will shoot some examples with my lens today as I don't want to offend anyone else by posting their samples.   Would like to get some feedback from people if they have seen this happen and if they have any solutions?   One other forum member mentioned he got this with his anamorphic, and he could reduce (but not eliminate) the vignette with a mattebox.
6. Hi Guys! Hey Andrew!    Nice to finally be on EOSHD.    I'm from Sydney, Australia and this is my first post! So we'll see how this goes.    This is my first music video shot on a anamorphic lens (KOWA B&H).   Any constructive feedback, criticism, tips, advice etc or just a chat is welcome and appreciated!    Would be cool to our share knowledge and experiences from all over the world.   Hope you like the video (and hopefully the music aswell loll).   Lana Lyric - S.W.A.G.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzVw6ZcgwbM   Talk soon guys.   Ray Ayos.
7. Hello, I'm new to this forum and lately got a wonderful Kowa Prominar Anamorphic 16-H lens for my 5D MKII. For attachment I'm looking for the front and back clamps of the famous redstan brand. I contacted the manufacturer several times via ebay and his website, but alas, until now, without any success. Any help and tips on this matter are kindly appreciated. Thanks for any advice in advance! Kind regards.
8. Like to share this moody short film I created. Used GH3, Kowa 8Z and SLR Magic 35mm. https://vimeo.com/64129362
9. Hello all this is my first post/comment. I've come into a Sankor 16-D, a Kowa Prominar 16-S and an Eiki 16C and I'm trying to get any and all information I can on how to get the most out of them. I'm shooting with a Panasonic GH2. I haven't picked up a prime lens to use with any of them as I'm not quite sure of the best one (or ones). I have picked up the Anamorphic Shooters Guide (2nd Edition) from EOSHD so I have some small idea. (I don't think any of these are actually listed in that guide though.)   Any advice would be helpful, which is lens is best, reliable and affordable adapters, best taking lenses, anything. I'm having trouble finding info on the internet but maybe there is a forum or guide that would be helpful somewhere I haven't looked.   Anyway, thanks and I'm looking forward to whatever help you all can offer.   ktrufant
10. Hi!   I have a 5d3 and am new to anamorphic shooting.   Getting ahold of an Isco 54 will be difficult, and probably out of my budget, lol.. So I've been looking at the Vid-Atlantic Isco's they sell for $849 with the clamp kits.. The videos they have of it in use with the Mark 2 look kind of like they were shot in the 70's though, so I was curious if anyone had some experience with the Vid-Atlantic adapters and could vouch for them, or if someone had a better solution?   I'm trying to stay under a thousand dollars..     I thoI thought this one looked great with the Kowa 16D, but I've heard bad opinions also..   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DRD16HYDL0   (Favorite shot @ 00:37)   Also this one:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SldXYArHbhk   Both shot on a Kowa 16D.
11. Like to share this acoustic music vid I created with a Kowa, SLR Magic 35mm and a GH3. https://vimeo.com/57519947
12. Would you recommend me a good 35mm taking lens that can go wide open but still sharp enough for use with a Kowa 8z on a gh2. What would be the sharpest lens possible for that combination? What would be the best/reasonably cheap option? Any recommendations accepted. What hack would you use for sharpest image. Sedna Aq1? Thanks!
13. My newest song. Already up in the Screening Room, but I figured I'd share it here too as it was shot anamorphic. Listen with headphones.   The camera somehow got in an interlaced mode for some of these clips, that or I had some hack settings wrong. I almost threw all these clips out, but I'm glad I didn't. I think it actually adds to the look and feel of the video in a strange way.    http://vimeo.com/58524262
14. My newest song. I'll do a proper music video later on.
15. -----------------SOLD---------------------------- Thank you !----------------------------------------------   Hi guys !   I don't need to explain how great this particular model is, arguably the best from Kowa.   Unfortunately, it doesn't fit my work , mostly TV projects, so it has been sitting in my bag for 6 months now... 16. Just thought I'd share this also on the anamorphic forum specifically. Gotta love the Kowa image!   http://vimeo.com/56519741
17. It is winter in Minnesota, and that means snow. There is nothing quite like the experience of a walk in the snow clad Minnesota forests. The soft snow and sharp cold winter air create a new extreme of quiet that can only really be experienced first-hand. The accompanying music can only hope to capture some of the mood. Shut out the hustle and bustle this holiday season for a relaxing 11 minute walk by the frozen Sunrise River behind my home.   http://vimeo.com/56519741
18. https://vimeo.com/55892502   I posted this over in the screening room, but I wanted to show all the anamorphic guys and gals as well.    Lots of fun and really easy to make this one:)   Trey
19. https://vimeo.com/55892502   My city has been very foggy lately, so I've been happy to take my 2x Kowa anamorphic off the shelf.    Thanks for introducing me to this lens, Andrew.   And thanks to Nick Driftwood for all the cool hacks he puts out.   Trey
20. Hi, All! This is just some of my "practice footage" from late night (early morning) walks around NYC with my trusty GH2, 37mm Mir, Kowa, Redstan clamps and Tokina 0.4 diopter. Hope you like it. http://vimeo.com/55186577
21. Hello everybody, Redstan is out of stock right now and I don't know that they'll be restocking. I'd prefer one of the red clamps if possible. Also, I'm looking for a red front clamp and and a diopter to get a closer minimum focus. The closer and more clear the better. Thanks for helping if you can! Trey treyvollmer3@gmail.com

Filmed entirely on the 2x Anamorphic Kowa Prominar 16H (8Z) on 2 lenses: 58mm Helios 44m 35mm Canon FD Thorium Graded with Cineform Firstlight ----- Behind the Scenes look at the launch party for new Ustream app called "Broadcast For Friends". Its basically Instagram for live video streaming. MUST use Tokina Diopter and +1 diopter closer than 5 feet! (was getting too close to the models and they came out blurry!) 2. Can't go completely handheld - MUST use cowboy rig at least. Tripod is best. 3. run-n-gun is hard to focus both anamophic and taking lens 4. almost NO light loss from Kowa :)
