My cameras and kit

  1. I never shot with any format other than internal gh4 4k and need to shoot client footage who is requesting 4k Log ProRes LT footage to be used by news. I currently own a GH4 and lenses. Wanted to know what I needed to deliver this type of footage. Should I get an external recorder or buy a GH5s? Can gh5s shoot this internally? Thanks
  2. We had the GH4 for quite some time – even bought a second one! – and we just loved it. So we decided to get the GH5! Here's our first bigger project with our new camera. We also shot with a GH4 and a Sony A7s as second and third camera and a Came Optimus gimbal. Let me know what you think. Constructive criticism appreciated! Allegra
  3. Hi, I have long looked at this site and the forum for inspiration, it was one of the reasons i chose to get a GH4 to replace my old (and much loved) Canon 550d.. I don't often make short films, mostly i film corporate films (with a DVX200), but recently my friend and i, had an idea for this little film. We filmed it over 2 days, and besides the GH4, some of the equipment used, was a Tamron 17-50 2.8 lens, Zhongyi Lens Turbo (focal reducer), some Yongnuo yn300 LED lights and lot of other things, like a variable ND filter, called Vu Scion (which is really good! It gives a really "natural" image.) I hope you like the film, and i really hope you will let me know what you think we can do better! /Ulrik Jepsen
  4. Hey there, first time posting here, just wanted to drop one of my recent films here which I shot while in Vietnam. Used a DEC Lens Regain and simple Canon 18-135mm kit lens (which became 2.8) btw. Love how it enables IS on Canon glass. LUT grading. Cheers for looking
  5. Would like to know what you think about our newest work. Shot with the infamous Panasonic GH4, internal V-LOG 8bit, -5/-5 NR and sharpness. Used Panasonic lenses: 12-35mm 2.8, 20mm 1.7 and 42.5mm 1.7. Used a Tiffen Black Satin Filter to get rid of the sharpning artifacts still left over at -5 and add some smoothness to highlights and shadows. Budget: about 0$.
  6. Here comes another musicvideo. This time we tried to really tried some stuff that we always wanted to do but never dared to. We started with several ideas that took us back to being 12 again when you started to shoot stuff on vhs. In the end it ended up with quite a lot of work - though it looks so trashy. Shot on GH4.
  7. Shot this on my GH4 in one night. Used some color foils on my cheap Yongnuo YN300 LEDs and my Panasonic 20mm 1.7 lens. Recording was done internally in 4K DCI VLOG 8 bit, so some artifacts are definitely there. Tried to create a dark, gritty but colorful look. Still in love with this small, little and reliable camera. Director, writor and main actor: Uche Aguh
  8. Shot with GH4 + Vario 12-35mm f/2.8 and 35-100mm f/2.8, and a few clips with the GM1. Music by JewelBeat.com
  9. Shot with Panasonic GH4 in cinematic DCI 4K 4096x2160 in ultra wide 3.31:1 anamorphic ratio.. Lens used were the Baby Hypergonar 1.75x anamorphic with MeVis 35mm f1.6 and the Zeiss Ultron 50mm f1.8. Rectilux 3FF-S, Marumi + 3 achromatic diopter and Fujinon ENG 72mm close up lens. Edited in Adobe Premiere and colored in Colorista III and Adobe Lightroom.
  10. I created this video with the Panasonic GH4 + Voigtlander 17.5mm on a Beholder DS1 gimbal. The combination worked pretty well although it did get heavy after having to do so many takes!
  11. Hi EOSHD community, I've been a daily reader and pretty regular commenter here over the past year, and wanted to share some exciting news. My first feature film will premiere at the LA Film Festival in two weeks! It's been a labor of love and a lot of work to get it to this point, so I'd love for any of you in the area to come out to the screening and to meet IRL. Here's a link for tickets, and the trailer's below. Also of note to readers is the many formats we used to shoot the film. Partly out of necessity, and at times for aesthetic reasons we ended up shooting on at least 5 different cameras and formats: Canon C500 4k Raw, RED, C500 HD, full-frame Canon DSLR, Panasonic GH4, and even iPhone Let me know if you can make it!
  12. shot and completed in 24 hours on a whim a few weeks ago. keep expectations low!! GH4, NATURAL profile, Canon 10-22mm with .64xl Speedbooster, on cam audio, tons of audio added in post, much Teal and Orange coloring abuse
  13. My new years resolution for 2016 is to take my camera as many places as I can and make a monthly video summary! I had a little go at practising this last month in December, I didn’t film nearly as much as I would have liked but hopefully I’ll get better at it over the new year. Cheers for watching, I'll keep anyone who's interested up to date with how its going - it would be really cool if anyone's doing the same or similar to share their videos too.
  14. I just finished my new anamorphic wildlife video. I filmed for three days over the last few months on St. Vincent Island Wildlife Refuge. A very unique and beautiful place. So before you and I get lost in Starwars, The Revenant and The Hateful Eight, please sit back relax and take a journey through this wild island with me. Technical: Filmed on a Panasonic GH4 in 4k Bolex 16/32 1.5x anamorphic lens with Voigtländer 25mm F0.95, Voigtländer 42.5mm F0.95 and Takumar SMC 135mm F2.5 V2 as taking lens. I shot in anamorphic 4:3 mode on GH4.
  15. Your parrot Flaubert sits sadly in the corner. He says, "jamais" crying in French. (Alexander Vertinsky) A short film exercise, testing V-Log -L on the GH4. Featuring Alona K. Shot and Edited by Izhar Ashdot. Music: Theme from "Weeping Suzannah" by Izhar Ashdot Edited on FCPX, graded with FilmConvert.
  16. Hello, we just shot a little video with a german MMA Fighter / Hip Hop Artist. We shot it on GH4 and GH2 and used a Cam-Mini 2 Gimbal. Luckily a friend at Deli Creative Collective graded it for us. We would love to hear some feedback. We want to grow - as you know there are no limits ;-) We added the video to the Sony competition and if you like to support us it would be great if you could like the video on youtube. (The youtube likes are needed to get to the next round) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P39xYXsoUS0&feature=youtu.be Have a nice evening!
  17. As it's almost Halloween I thought it would be fun to start a thread for everyone to share their own horror short films. Mine is a a three-chapter Lovecraftian miniseries titled "The Crawler in the Dark". The story is about two scholars who discover an ancient artifact with which they can psychically explore across space and time, but leaves them unwittingly exposed to a malevolent psychic traveller: Chapter 1: Eplilogue http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cOycfQFZPM Chapter 2: Old Friends http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBtZBIV_o7s Chapter 3: The Traveler http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SeuQpYDs5JI And here is a film I shot last year, but recently re-released in it's original 4K resolution. Titled "No Face", it's about a supernatural entity lurking inside a survival horror video game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aJLKKjUYUc Both films were shot mostly at YouTube Space Tokyo during their Jidaigeki (period film) and House of Horrors limited programs for local YouTube creators. Most of "No Face" with the GH4 and SLR Magic 10mm Cine bolted to a custom helmet rig, and "The Crawler in the Dark" was shot anamorphic using the GH4 with the SLR Magic 1.33x Anamorphot adapter and Sigma 18-35. I hope you enjoy my horror films, and share yours as well!
  18. Photoshoot Sesion BTS, with GH4 and Optex Anamorphic adapter. Comments are appreciated
  19. Greetings, Here is a short video I just finished. Any feedback would be appreciated.
  20. Hello there, Does anyone have an idea of any good V-log settings for the GH4. Have not found any information on the panasonic site. Thanks for any feedback. Regards Kevin
  21. Hi, check out my latest musicpromo for Hamburg based "Neonschwarz". Mostly shot on GH4 with Metabones, Tokina 11-16 and Sigma 30mm 1.4. Love the 4K modus to make smooth transitions and "dollymoves"... But also a few shots with the 700D with kitlens - can you point them out? ;-)
  22. Hello, As a fan of beautiful classic cars I always enjoy watching videos from Petrolicious. For those who don't know, Petrolicious is a famous website about vintage cars ; they make regular video interviews of owners of older car models. Recently they shot a video about the Alpine Renault. The problem with Petrolicious is that they are very discreet about the shooting and the gear used, so I "investigate" and I finally found this video was made by David Zu Elfe from itx Films. I asked David what he had used as material and about color grading, here's his kindly reply : Interesting ! Enjoy the video now :
  23. I posted this a couple of months ago to see if anyone could tell the difference (other than slo mo) between the FS7 and GH4. Here is the final product on the label's YouTube channel.
