  1. Went out to play with the Trump before sending it off for a few weeks. Tom was nice enough to demonstrate balancing these Rocks by the beach. Nice guy and I got to shoot into the sun for a bit. Nikon D800 DSO Trump 58 with 2X Oval Anamorphic aperture DSO TERRY NORTON’S FLARESEX MODULE
  2. Hi guys, I'm a bit of an anamorphic noob. I bought an Isco-Gottingen Animex S8/2x. It's supposed to be the same as a rebranded Iscomorphot 8/2x according to this: http://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/2331-isco-gottingen-animex-s8-2x/ I bought it for 140 euros in perfect condition so I thought I was getting a great deal. I noticed straight that the image was very sharp. I just couldn't really get great anamorphic flares out of it. A least not as in this video: http://vimeo.com/60401188 Here are some test with the helios 58mm holding the Isco in front of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BvTMM_m2_Gk&feature=youtu.be (little bit of an anamorphic flare) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5voYH6GNYDY&feature=youtu.be (using my phone as a flashlight, no anamorphic flares) Is there a way to make the flares more pronounced or could it be that the lens it MC?
  3. The taking lens was the SLR Magic 35mm T1.4 Cine Mark II for both of these, used at F2.8, the camera was a GH3. A live acoustic video, on this one I've intentionally gone for a look with flares: Some night street footage, at F2.8 it's a bit tricky when there's not much street lighting, I may well re-edit this video, maybe to include more footage.
  4. Here is a short clip from last night, just hanging out down by the river with this massive swing my father put in. Love it down there, bonfires, drinks, nature, swings over the water.   https://vimeo.com/72460915
  5. Now I realize this probabl isn't the best idea just wondering what everyone's opinion on it was. I was thinking for a better lens flare removing the multicoating on my cheaper canon lens. I found this tutorial although I'm a bit dubious as to how well it would work. http://www.ehow.com/how_7830132_replace-multicoating-camera-lens.html Just using clean wipes? Can it really be that easy?
  6. http://vimeo.com/68443110   This is my new graphic, in animated form. I created and animated it in PowerPoint (I've been animating in PowerPoint since elementary school). I then played the animation on my Dell 30" monitor and recorded the monitor with my GH2, Kowa anamorphic, Konica AR 40mm and Tokina diopter all on a tripod. Then I moved the monitor out of the scene and recorded various flares with a flashlight. Brought it all together in Final Cut Pro, set the flares as additive layers, and added some grain overlay effect. I think the outcome is something clean-cut but with a dash of organic mojo that is difficult to achieve with an all-digital animation. There's no faking those real flares!
